Bayugan City Achieves 100% G1 ZOD Status as All 43 Barangays Recognized

Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur — In a significant milestone for public health and sanitation, all 43 barangays of Bayugan City have been officially recognized as Grade 1 Zero Open Defecation (G1 ZOD) Certified Barangays.

The recognition was conferred during the awarding ceremony held at the D.O. Plaza Sports Complex, Prosperidad, led by the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur and the Provincial Health Office. The achievement reflects the city’s full compliance with the standards set by the Department of Health under the “Sustaining Sanitation Program,” which aligns with the Philippine Approach to Total Sanitation (PhATS).

The G1 ZOD Certification affirms each barangay’s commitment to eliminating open defecation, promoting the use of sanitary toilets, and enhancing hygiene and sanitation practices within their communities.

Local officials, barangay leaders, and health workers were commended for their collective efforts and dedication in ensuring a cleaner, healthier, and safer Bayugan City.

This 100% G1 ZOD accomplishment marks a major step forward in the city’s ongoing drive to improve public health outcomes and uplift the quality of life for every Bayuganon.
