Former clinical trials manager decoding the body’s language. Holistic health + nervous system healing in midlife.
I used to think recovery meant bouncing back quickly.
But the last few months taught me something different.
I didn’t push through being sick.
I didn’t try to keep up.
I lowered everything.
And now… my body is coming back online in a way I haven’t felt in a long time.

Even with regulation, this is something caregiving hasn’t changed.

I didn’t realize how much he was responding to me until I saw it clearly.
When my son was little, nothing made sense.
Sleep problems.
Running into walls.
Food obsessions.
Meltdowns.
Every behavior felt like its own separate mystery.
But I kept thinking there had to be something deeper underneath it all.
A pattern.
An undercurrent.
Over time, I realized the meltdown usually isn’t the beginning.
There is almost always a moment before it.
A signal.
A shift in the body that tells you something is about to happen.
Once you start seeing that moment, everything changes.
That’s the idea behind the Dear Tired Mama tool.
It helps you slow the situation down and notice what your child’s body may be trying to tell you before things escalate.
Not more advice.
Not another parenting checklist.
Just a way to help tired parents see their child more clearly.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re missing the deeper pattern in your child’s behavior, the link to the tool is in my bio.
I used to manage clinical trial protocols.
Then I became an autism mom… and realized there was no protocol for this.
So I built one.
The Dear Tired Mama tool helps you slow down and decode what your child’s behavior is telling you.

I spent years as an addict to the ‘Post Immediately’ cycle. I thought relevance was my only currency. I thought if I went quiet, I’d disappear.
But I’m realizing that you can’t lead others to a place of rest if you’re constantly running on fumes yourself.
I’m choosing regulation over relevance for the next few days. Not because I’m ‘done,’ but because I’m committed to showing up steady—not just showing up.
To the mama whose nervous system is screaming for a pause but whose brain is telling her she ‘can’t afford’ to stop: This is your permission. The world won’t stop spinning if you take a breath. I promise.
See you when I’m steady.

Last night didn’t feel like an easy night of sleep.
I didn’t feel naturally sleepy in the evening, and I woke a few times through the night.
What was different is how my body behaved inside that.
There was no anxiety.
No racing thoughts.
No wired-but-tired feeling.
No sense of my system being “on alert.”
Even while awake, my body stayed calm.
Oura’s data confirmed what my body already knew:
heart rate steady, recovery strong, oxygen solid, stress low.
What I’m noticing lately is this shift:
sleep is no longer driven by exhaustion or stress hormones forcing shutdown.
It’s arriving later — slower — but deeper.
That can feel unfamiliar when you’re used to collapsing into sleep.
But unfamiliar doesn’t mean wrong.
It feels like my body is learning how to rest without being chased there.

Sometimes our tech tells us we’re “ready to go” when our body is actually whispering, “hold back a little.”
This morning, my Oura ring gave me an optimal readiness score and even encouraged me to challenge myself. If I had only looked at those two big numbers on the front screen, I would have pushed harder.
But here’s the thing—when I paused and checked in with myself, I noticed a subtle hesitation. Nothing dramatic. Just a little tentativeness in my body. Sure enough, when I looked deeper into my metrics, I saw that my recovery index was actually in the red, marked as “fair.”
The more detailed metrics lined up with what I was already feeling.
That’s the power of body attunement. Devices like Oura, Apple Watch, or Whoop can give us data, but they can’t replace the deeper wisdom of our own bodies. Without that mind–body connection, those tools can be misleading—or worse, push us toward burnout.
Your most valuable tool for wellness will never be an app. It’s your ability to listen inward.

Your body remembers things your mind forgets.
If you’ve ever felt *stuck without knowing why*, keep reading.
For years, I didn’t realize I was living in a state of disconnection.
On the outside, I looked fine. I cared for my family, I showed up, I even laughed.
But my body… my body was telling a different story.
It carried the weight of moments I had pushed away.
It held on to the shock I thought I’d “gotten over.”
It stayed quiet until it couldn’t anymore.
When I finally started working with someone who specialized in shock and dissociative states, it was like I was finally seeing and hearing myself for the first time.
I began to see where my body had been holding the past—and learned how to reconnect, integrate, and teach it to trust me again.
This is what body attunement is about—learning to listen and respond with care.
It’s not “self-care”. It’s a relationship.
If this resonates, see my “Body Attunement” highlight for a deeper dive.
