To keep it all the way real with you all before I became an financial strategist my net worth was in the red zone 🥴. Yup I had more liabilities than assets. With the help of my money team (everyone should have a money), we built a strong financial plan that was aliened with my goals and dreams. Because of the financial plan I am all the way green. I have more assets than liabilities and am helping others do the same.

People naturally don’t plan to fail, they just fail to plan.

Think of yourself, your goals, and dreams as a bill. I’m a big believer in paying yourself first. It’s one of the strategies I personally do and suggest to others. At minimum, take 10% of your income and pay yourself before you pay someone else each month. Yes, that’s right each month.

For my creatives here’s another approach. Before you buy a new makeup brush, pallet, camera, hair product etc. pay yourself the amount of the product before you make the purchase. This helps me:
1. Buy what I truly need
2. Not over spend
3. Continuously fund my emergency fund and “oh crap” fund.

Like RuPaul says “if you can’t love yourself, how the hell are you gonna love somebody else” well I like to say “if you can’t pay yourself, how the hell are you gonna pay somebody else.”
