To all our amazing Dreadies 🌻
As per our president no hair salons / beauty salons or Tattoo Studios may resume normal business as yet.

Although we know you need/want maintenance or new extensions or new dreads installed but unfortunately we are still not allowed to provide you our services we will most definitely keep you informed if we do receive any new information to this regard.

We thank you for all your enquiries so far and look forward to when we can see our amazing dreadlock family again...Until then please keep safe and healthy.

I just copied this excerpt from the latest update. We will advise when our services will be available again:

"To reiterate – no salon, whether it be home-based or based elsewhere, may perform any treatment services during this stage of lockdown. If you do, you are breaking the law and you and the client are liable for heavy fines and possible imprisonment. Furthermore, your indemnity insurance will not kick in if you get caught doing something illegal"

Hi there friends! As per lockdown phasing regulations, we will only be allowed to resume business at Level 1

Can anybody assist with non-perishable goods like mieliepap, pilchards, corned beef, tinned beans, dry lentils, tuna, jam etc? For people who do not have fridges. Food only. I will try to arrange a drop-off point in Alberton. In the meantime it can be delivered to D-Locks, Shop 2, Lezar House, 18 Penzance St, New Redruth, Alberton. Any assistance will be welcome

After 20 years of deadlocking hair I am getting very close to my planned 'retirement' (June 2020) which is why I have been training Burnice to take over D-Locks. I will be leaving you in very capable hands. Burnice will be using the same method that I have been using all these years to ensure tight, low-maintenance locks. Although I will be moving to my dream life in the country, surrounded by nature and cows, I will be making frequent appearances in the studio. Deadlocking was never something I did for money. It was just something I loved doing and something I was passionate about and although it was not my main source of income, it was certainly a source of joy. I wish every person whose hair I worked on all the joy and contentment possible. But, I am still here until end May!

Today we helped Priya by doing a correction/redo. The original installation and initial maintenance was not done by D-Locks, There was so much to be done to fix her dreads, that we could not get it all done in a day, but we will continue next week. Giving her dreads to be proud of Before (first 3 pics) and after

D-Locks now do permanent dreadlock removal so you do not have to shave your head. This only applies to dreadlocks under one year old. We charge R150 per hour. A R500 non-refundable deposit will be required upon booking. We also do a strengthening and conditioning oil treatment afterwards at a cost of R90, which is optional.

Your hair is never too short for extensions. We installed these permanent extensions for Burnice without wrapping or sewing and she looks gorgeous! Some bits were REALLY short!
