Working nail techs are not sitting around with three hours to create one perfectly lit, oil-soaked, Photoshop-ready masterpiece nail. That is adorable. Truly.

Instagram nails are created in a fantasy world where the client never moves, the lighting is always golden hour, and the tech has unlimited time to sculpt a single finger like it is auditioning for a museum.

Meanwhile, working nail techs are over here juggling full books, fixing “just one nail” that magically becomes four, matching three years of inconsistent structure, racing the clock, and still trying to create something beautiful before the next client shows up early with her keys in her hand and a story you did not ask for. Then someone online zooms in to 600% and announces your “flaws” like they just cracked a case for CSI. Sweetheart, even NASA doesn’t need that level of magnification.

Those flawless Instagram nails were not created at 3:00 PM on a Thursday with five fills waiting. They were created in a parallel universe where stress, deadlines, and gravity do not exist.

Working nail techs create real nails on real humans with real timelines. Fantasy nails live online. Reality lives at the table.

Every m**o who looks down on a working nail tech’s work is wrestling with insecurities louder than anything they pretend to judge. Anyone who zooms in to feel superior only exposes how small they already feel. The nails were never the issue. Their ego is.

Nail techs, show your work. Show what you create in real life on real people. Stop shrinking for egotistical, shallow, small-minded critics who contribute nothing except noise. They are not your clients. They are not your income. They are not your standard.

Your clients pay for your work because they love what you do. A stranger’s ego is not your metric.

The more I scroll social media, the more hateful m**os I see tearing down working nail techs while pretending perfection is the norm in their own work is questionable at best. Newsflash: digital creators faking it are not the standard for professionals doing real work on real hands.

I stand with every working nail tech who has ever been made to feel small because someone else’s ego needed a place to sit.

It’s been nearly five years with you—my saving grace.

After the heartbreaking loss of my Grandma, Rosemary, I stepped out in faith and opened a business in her honour. I started with nothing but a promise from God that in my brokenness, He would turn it around for me. And He did.

The name She Rose isn’t your typical “Nails by…” salon name. This name carries history, depth, and power. It’s a reminder that every woman can rise again, no matter the valley, the circumstance, or the storm.

Every day, I hear a story from a woman who walks through my doors. And every time she leaves… she rises a little more from her story. That alone has been one of the greatest honours of my life.

Thank You, Lord, for this job, this purpose, and this journey. I am humbled. I am grateful. I am blessed.
