Ladies, let’s talk about something many women experience but few discuss openly 🫂

If you’ve been consistent with Kegels, tried different remedies, and worked on your mindset, but things still feel “different” after childbirth: you are not alone 😔

Childbirth is powerful. For some women, especially after a traumatic delivery, a large baby, or multiple births, the vaginal muscles and tissues may not return to their pre-birth state. That can show up as discomfort, reduced sensation, a feeling of looseness, or it can affect intimacy and confidence. All of that is valid, and it’s not “just in your head”.

So what can you do?
🎯 Talk to your ObGyn. Unregulated “tightening” creams or online hacks can irritate tissue and cause harm.
🎯 Ask about options. For some women with significant laxity or muscle/tissue damage, reconstructive procedures like vaginoplasty or perineoplasty may be discussed. When done for the right medical reasons, these can improve function and quality of life.

Today in theatre, a mom who delivered a large baby underwent a minor reconstructive procedure called vaginoplasty 🤗
Stories like hers remind us that postpartum changes are real, and support + treatment options exist😇

Have you heard about pelvic floor assessment or reconstructive options before?

Important reminder ❗
This is health education, not a diagnosis or personal medical advice. If you have concerns, please speak with your doctor or a qualified ObGyn in person. I don’t assess or treat patients via Facebook or WhatsApp.

PLAY WITH YOUR CHILDREN

Driving through traffic this morning, I got thinking.….🤔

How sedentary have we become as a country?🥹

Think about it:
House → car parked by the door → drive to work → car park right by the office → drive to the mall → car park by the entrance → back home.

When do we actually move our bodies? 🧐🤔😯

Here’s what most people don’t know:
📍 You can lose your muscle mass and strength if you don’t use your muscles regularly. It starts as early as your 30s — men and women.
📍 You can look slim on the outside but still carry mostly fat under the skin. It’s called “skinny fat.” No movement = less muscle, more fat, even if your weight looks “normal.”
📍 With that body composition, the risk of non-communicable diseases is increased. Diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancers plus more. Our health is much more than the number on the scale.

So what can we do?
✅Start small. Your body is a gift, move it like you’re grateful for it
✅ Park further from the entrance. Those extra steps add up.
✅ Take the stairs, even if it’s just 1 floor.
✅ Stand up and stretch for 2 minutes every hour. Set a phone reminder.
✅ Walk to the gate for deliveries instead of having them brought to the door.
✅Lift that water dispenser by yourself instead of waiting for your house help.
✅Walk while you’re on that long phone call.
✅ Play with your kids 😄

You don’t need a gym. You need to move.
Your muscles, your heart, your health — they all work better when you move.

What’s ONE small way you’ll move more today? Drop it below 👇🏾 Let’s keep each other accountable.

Invest in your health, you're worth it ❗

Living apart is costing couples 2 things: conception + connection 💔

Ladies, can we be honest for a minute? 😊

Patient: Doc, we’ve been trying for 3 years. Nothing is working.
Me: I hear you. And let’s talk about distance too. You’re in Lukulu. He’s in Mbala. You were each others regular visitor before but he now visits once every 4 months 😳
That’s hard on your marriage… and it’s hard on babies. When we miss the 6-day fertile window every month, pregnancy becomes a geography problem 🤷🏿‍♀️

Three truths about distance + couples:
🎯 Getting pregnant needs timing.Egg survival = ∼24 hours. S***m = 3-5 days. That’s a 6-day window per month to conceive.

🎯Marriage needs presence. Stress + loneliness mess with hormones AND communication. Your body + heart both feel “now isn’t safe”.

🎯Distance takes twice. Couples miss the baby because of timing. They also drift apart because of silence😔

Bottom line:Before guilt, let’s be real about distance.

If you’re living apart while trying to conceive or just trying to stay close, you need a plan and a lot of grace 😇

You’re not broken. Your situation is difficult ❤️

Invest in your health + your marriage. You’re worth it❗️

Good morning and Happy Sabbath 🙏

"What are you people waiting for to start having babies?"
"How old is your baby? S/he needs a sibling" 🫩
"When is Jayden having a baby brother?" 😠
"Akula mwana afunika mufana wake"
"I thought you were pregnant!"

Please stop. 🛑

Behind every "innocent" question is a couple who might be:
✨Grieving recurrent miscarriages in silence 😔
✨Saving every kwacha for IVF or fertility treatment
✨Managing PCOS, fibroids, or low s***m count
✨Recovering from a traumatic birth 😔
✨Waiting for the right partner
Or simply choosing to wait 🙄

None of that is your business.🚫

🎯1 in 6 couples worldwide faces infertility. In Zambia, many suffer in silence while family gatherings become interrogation rooms.

Your curiosity does not outweigh their peace.

As a doctor, I see the tears behind the forced smiles every week.

Let’s change this
🎯Replace "When are you?" with "How are you?"
🎯Celebrate babies without policing wombs
🎯Respect private medical journeys

If you’re silently struggling, you’re not alone. My DMs are safe.🤝

Let us end the stigma.
