Health Promotions under ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ซ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ญ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ conducted two important engagements today at ๐ ๐ผ๐ธ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฏ๐ผ ๐๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ, one of the districtโs key ๐๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ (๐๐จ๐), aimed at strengthening preparedness and response against potential public health threats.
๐ Meeting 1: A sensitization meeting was held with Mokambo Border Agents focusing on Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) awareness, prevention measures, early detection, and the importance of coordinated response efforts at the border.
๐ Meeting 2: The district received a monitoring and assessment team comprising representatives from World Health Organization (WHO), Zambia National Public Health Institute, and Copperbelt Provincial Health Office Discussions centered on evaluating key measures being implemented to raise Ebola awareness, assessing the availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the isolation room, and highlighting the critical role played by Immigration and Zambia Revenue Authority staff in epidemic preparedness, information dissemination, and case tracking at the Point of Entry.
These engagements reaffirm our commitment to strengthening surveillance systems and ensuring our borders remain vigilant in safeguarding public health.

Mufulira District Health Office, in collaboration with Kawama East Mini Hospital, today held a ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ aimed at addressing the challenges and dangers associated with ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฌ.
The meeting provided a platform for community members to share possible reasons why some expectant mothers choose to deliver from home instead of seeking skilled care at health facilities. Health education was conducted by ๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ต๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐ (๐ด๐ช๐ฏ ๐ช๐๐๐๐

Today, Mufulira District Health Office convened a stakeholders' meeting at the Mufulira Municipal Council Chambers to deliberate on critical public health matters affecting the district.
The meeting focused on strategies for ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, preparedness and response measures regarding the ๐๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ค, and planning for the upcoming ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐๐ค scheduled for the month of June.
Stakeholders from various sectors reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration, enhancing community awareness, and supporting interventions aimed at safeguarding the health and well-being of our communities.

Mufulira District Health Office today joined the rest of the world in commemorating ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ under the theme:
"๐๐ง๐ฆ๐๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฉ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฅ โ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐๐๐๐๐จ ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง."
As part of the commemoration, a sensitisation campaign was conducted in ๐ฒ๐๐๐๐๐๐ - ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, aimed at raising awareness on the harmful effects of ni****ne and to***co use on individual and community health.
Community members were educated on the dangers associated with to***co consumption, including its link to cancer, heart disease, stroke, respiratory illnesses, and addiction. The campaign also emphasized the importance of preventing young people from initiating to***co use and encouraged current users to seek support in quitting.
