"Before I became a member of the Her Future Her Choice School Club, I was not able to express myself freely. But after being a member for two years now, I have learnt a lot. I have learnt about my rights, who knew that girls also have rights? Now I know I have the right to say no and make right decisions about my own body." says 16-year-old Athalia, a Grade 12 Pupil at Niko Girls Secondary School.
With support from Global Affairs Canada under the Her Future Her Choice (HFHC) project, Oxfam in Zambia working with SAFAIDS, Planned Parenthood Associaon of Zambia and Women in Law and Development in Africa, formulated HFHC school clubs which focus on adolescent health issues. The clubs welcome both male and female youth and address reproductive health rights, life skills, HIV/AIDS prevention, gender equality and mental health among others.

The frequency and intensity of climate change shocks that demands that smallholder farmers in the frontline of climate crisis must embrace sustainable agriculture to be able to feed their families.
Farmer field schools are proving to be helping the farmers in equipping them with necessary skills and techniques to adapt to climate change.
This week together with our partner organization, Nutri-Aid Trust and Women for Change under the Improving the Socio-Economic Status of Women, Youths and Marginalised Groups Project we were on appreciation tour of some of the work farmer field schools in Namwala district are doing.
Mrs Dudu is the Secretary of Kaabwe Farmer field School and he says: "The lessons have really had a great impact and we now know how we should take care of our farm lands but also diversify crops so that the soil remains fertile."
Over 248 farmers in Namwala are members of farmer field schools under this project and are being empowered with various skills to enable them grow food in the face of climate crisis.
