Born Robert Nesta Marley in Nine Mile, Jamaca in 1945, his career began in the 1960s. Marley became a global superstar and nearly 50 years since his death, his songs continue to inspire millions around the world. He often fused his pan-African beliefs with Rastafarianism, Christianity and elements of Ethiopian Orthodoxy. He had 11 children (two of them were his wife's children from her previous relationships but Marley adopted them). He also had several children with other women outside of his marriage. His biographers suspect that the total number of his kids is likely 12 or 13.
