A little update from Miss Mae. 🤍

If you’ve followed us for a while, you’ll know we’ve had some incredible stylists come through these doors.

One of the most rewarding parts of owning a salon has been watching stylists grow in confidence, develop their skills and eventually chase dreams of their own.

I’m incredibly proud of every stylist who’s had the confidence to take that leap, but I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been hard. Miss Mae has always been more than a workplace to me, it’s something I’ve poured my heart into, and every goodbye has left a mark.

Over the last year, I’ve realised something… The hair industry has changed.

More stylists are choosing independence, flexibility and business ownership, and instead of seeing that as something that takes people away from Miss Mae, I’ve decided to build a salon where those dreams can exist here.

Which brings me to some exciting news…

Jas is officially making the transition to renting a chair within Miss Mae!

This isn’t her leaving. It’s her growing.

She’ll still be working from the salon you know and love, surrounded by the same incredible team and community, while taking the exciting step of building a business that’s completely her own.

Watching Jas take this next step feels really special because it represents something bigger than just one stylist.

It represents the future of Miss Mae.

A space where independent business owners can build successful businesses without losing the community, support and culture that make salon life so special.

For the past few weeks we’ve been searching for the right stylists to join us on this journey, and we’re now down to our final interviews!

We’re not just filling chairs, we’re building a community of business owners who genuinely align with what Miss Mae is all about.

The remaining spaces are filling quickly, and I honestly can’t wait to share what’s next!

Can you believe this girl started at Miss Mae because we needed a tea and tidy casual over Christmas?

Fast forward 18 months, and she has evolved in every way possible.

Salon manager, salon assistant, content manager and creator, content educator, salon coordinator… you name it.

One day she said, “I think I want to learn more about hair and this industry, I want to do a Certificate II in Hairdressing.”

So she did.

And not only did she do it, she completed it in a record time of 11 weeks. A course that was designed to take 9 months.

With true dedication, passion, and a newfound love for this industry, she put her mind to something and it truly goes to show that if you really want something, there’s no stopping you.

To the girl who wears so many hats at Miss Mae, here’s to you.
