Timeless beauty knows no age, 83 years young and still radiating with her stunning French acrylic nails.

Ive had the privilege of caring for this lovely client for over 15 years. Prioritizing self-care has no expiration date.

As an experienced nail technician, I only use the drill when drilling out for the white acrylic, everything else is filed. Much kinder on your nails πŸ’… ✨️

Why does our skin change so much after 40?

As we move through peri-menopause and menopause, our oestrogen levels decline, which can lead to dry skin, loss of collagen, reduced elasticity, sensitivity, and a lack of that healthy glow we once took for granted.

This is why nourishing the skin becomes so important.

Think hydrating serums, facial oils, moisturisers, gentle exfoliation, and treatments that support the skin rather than strip it.

One of my favourite treatments for menopausal skin combines deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, LED light therapy, hydrating masks, lifting and sculpting facial massage, lymphatic drainage, hot towels, aromatherapy and relaxation.

My clients often tell me their skin feels firmer, more hydrated and refreshed, and they leave feeling like they've had a mini facelift.

Menopause doesn't mean giving up on your skin. It simply means caring for it differently. πŸ’•

✨ A Little Glimpse Into One Of My Favourite Treatments ✨

Let's be honest ladies, sometimes we all need an hour where nobody wants anything from us. πŸ˜†

One of my favourite treatments combines relaxation with results, and of course, LED light therapy.

Your treatment begins with a few deep aromatherapy inhalations to help you slow down, breathe and leave the outside world behind.

I then double cleanse the skin, followed by a gentle 30 % glycolic peel to brighten and refresh.

While you're relaxing under the LED light, you'll enjoy a hand or foot massage because I believe every treatment should feel like a little escape. πŸ’•

Warm towels are used throughout the treatment, along with calming spa music and the gentle sounds of my singing bowls to help you completely unwind and of course a heated blanket during the winter months.

After your LED session, I apply a warm hyaluronic sheet mask to flood the skin with hydration.

Then comes one of my favourite parts β€” a facial oil massage using lifting and sculpting techniques designed to relax tension and leave the skin looking fresh, lifted and glowing.

Many of my clients tell me they feel like they've had a mini facelift by the end of the treatment. 😊

The treatment is then finished with eye cream, lip balm, moisturiser and SPF, leaving your skin hydrated, nourished and radiant.

It's more than just a facial.

It's an hour dedicated entirely to you.

And sometimes that's exactly what we need. πŸ’•

I've seen a lot of trends come and go, but one thing remains true...

🀍 Healthy skin is always in fashion. 🀍

The beauty industry has changed dramatically over the years. Trends come and go, treatments evolve and new technologies are constantly being introduced.

Many of these treatments have their place and can achieve wonderful results when used correctly.

But one thing I've learnt is that the fundamentals never change.

πŸ’§ Hydration. β˜€οΈ Sun protection. πŸ₯— Healthy lifestyle habits. 🀍 Personalised advice. ✨ Genuine, hands-on care.

We live in a world where skincare can sometimes feel overwhelming. With so many products, treatments and opinions available, it can be difficult to know what's right for your skin.

I've always believed that every client is different. What works beautifully for one person may not be the right fit for another.

That's why I've always taken a personalised approach. Sometimes the best thing we can do is simplify things, listen to our skin and focus on treatments and products that truly suit the individual.

Whether it's great skincare, regular facials, cosmetic treatments or simply looking after yourself from the inside out, every woman chooses what feels right for her.

But regardless of the treatment path we choose, healthy, well-cared-for skin will always be the foundation.

Good skincare. Hydration. Sun protection. Looking after your skin barrier. And being kind to yourself.

I also believe there is something special about old-school customer service.

Taking the time to listen. Building relationships. Making clients feel comfortable. And giving them your full attention during their appointment.

Technology has its place, but it will never replace human connection.

And after all these years, that's still my favourite part of what I do. 🀍

A little reminder before your next appointment... 🀍

When you come and see me, you don't need to be perfect.

You don't need a full face of makeup. You don't need freshly waxed legs. You don't need perfect nails. You don't even need to have a good week.

You just need to show up.

If you fall asleep during your treatment, that's the ultimate compliment. If you snore, twitch, dribble a little or wake yourself up with a snort, don't be embarrassed. It simply tells me you've relaxed.

If you'd like to chat throughout your appointment, that's okay too. Some people relax by talking. Others use their appointment to offload the worries of the week. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry and sometimes we simply enjoy the peace and quiet.

Whatever is shared in my treatment room stays in my treatment room.

Arriving in your comfy clothes? Perfect. Wearing makeup? No problem, I'll take care of that. Hairy legs? Chipped polish? Regrowth? Trust me, I've seen it all and there is absolutely no judgement here.

Over the years I've realised that many of my clients aren't just coming for a treatment. They're juggling families, work, relationships, ageing parents, health concerns and all the pressures that come with everyday life.

Sometimes it's simply about having an hour that's just for you.

A chance to switch off, relax, have a chat, enjoy some quiet time and let someone look after you for a change.

Just come exactly as you are. 🀍

One thing I've noticed over my 30 years in the beauty industry is that sensitive skin is becoming more and more common.

Many clients come to me with redness, irritation, dryness, tightness, rosacea or skin that simply doesn't feel comfortable anymore.

In many cases, it's not because they have "bad skin." It's often the result of over-exfoliation, using too many active ingredients, harsh skincare products, hormonal changes, allergies, stress, or an impaired skin barrier.

I also believe our skin reflects what's happening inside our bodies. Gut health issues, food sensitivities, inflammation, poor diet and dehydration can all show up through the skin.

Healthy skin isn't about stripping, scrubbing or constantly chasing the latest trend. It's about nourishing and supporting your skin from the inside out.

πŸ’§ Drink plenty of water
πŸ₯‘ Eat healthy fats and oils
πŸ“ Enjoy plenty of fruits and vegetables
🩷 Use gentle, hydrating skincare
✨ Protect and repair your skin barrier

For my peri-menopausal and menopausal ladies, hydration becomes even more important as our skin naturally becomes drier and loses some of its natural oils.

The good news is that sensitive skin can often be improved with the right skincare, the right lifestyle choices, and a little patience.

Healthy skin isn't about using more products β€” it's about using the right ones. 🀍
