In the beauty industry trends, techniques and products are constantly evolving and if you don’t keep up you’ll be left behind. Yesterday I attended a Korean Lash Lift masterclass with Tahlia at .academy I went in with a mind set of forgetting everything I know and learning the VELT way. Tahlia has trained in Russia, Melb, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Sydney and has an extensive knowledge of everything lashes and brows. She is extremely passionate and it showed in all aspects of her course. We went back to basics with theory on the lash anatomy, the way the chemicals impact the hair, rod selection, troubleshooting, processing times and hair health, and a step by step break down of the treatment followed by practical training.

I’m so looking forward to working with Thalia again in the future to update my knowledge on brow services.

Im Jacqueline - owner of Tan Aesthetics & beauty therapist with over 12 years of experience. Here’s a little look into the journey that’s shaped the last 12 years..

1. I Moved to Melbourne in 2013 to study my Diploma of Beauty Therapy, A photo from my interview with Elly Lukas.

4. Worked at Dr Tass as a cosmetic consultant & ofc all my photos whilst being 21 and working here were either in his Lambo or at Crown.
5. Worked at Endota for 5 years as an In Spa Trainer, this is where my love for spa started!
6. The team from Endota, Megan is still to this day one of my best mates.
7. I started working for Beauty on Rose in Essendon and was one of 4 managers. It is one of the largest and busiest salons in Australia. I worked well in a fast pace environment. COVID hit when I left here to move home, and I struggled with the slower pace.
8. During COVID I created Tan Aesthetics, found a graphic designer and created the website myself.
9. Worked at laser clinics and absolutely loved laser!
10. Started doing beauty services again after a year of laser.
11. I needed full time work as we came out of COVID I started at Blacklocks in Finance & Aftermarket Sales. I worked 6 days a week 9-5 and mobile spray tans every evening 5:30-9pm for 3 years. I WAS BUSYYY but thrived in the chaos.
12. Fell pregnant in 2024
13. Got PUPPS rash over my entire body that stopped me from working peak wedding season.
14. Hamish started building the salon
15. Had our baby girl!! And learnt to slow down.

Your spray tan will always look slightly different under different lighting. In professional/wedding photos the tan will always appear 1-2 shades lighter than in person (depending on the edit) On film your tan will appear a lot warmer & darker than in person. I always recommend using your hens weekend as a trial tan so you get an idea of how it looks in iPhone photos, different lighting and against white.
