Clinic Alexandra
Non-Surgical Medical Aesthetics by Registered Nurse Alexandra

I believe that not only my level of continued education, but also my personal experiences have strongly shaped the way I make clinical decisions for my patients today.
I have been on both sides, patient and practitioner.
Before I was educated:
I chased ‘more’.
I clinic jumped after a ‘no’.
I tried to bandaid poor lifestyle choices with another treatment.
But it’s not the answer to getting you the outcome you’re truly hoping for.

The pressure to ‘keep up’ with treatments or timelines, often comes from comparison, not from your own individual anatomy.
Our consultations helps determine whether there’s an actual anatomical concern worth addressing, and whether treatment is the right fit for you, specifically.

The corrugators and procerus work together, creating the glabella complex, or as you would know ‘the frown’.
This same region sits over vessels that communicate directly with blood supply to the eye, which is why risk assessment here is never just about the muscle.
Treatment planning in this area requires understanding anatomy, vascular proximity, and how these muscles interact with the rest of the upper face.

On my recent post, many seemed to have missed that it’s not to say treatment ‘can’t be performed ever’.
The patient as she presented, with dense lip tattoo, would not be suitable, until the tattoo is more faded.
This is because:
I prioritise a complete risk assessment over partial assessment.
I prioritise patient safety over elective treatments.
This is simply the standard of practise I provide, within my clinic.
So for my patients considering lip tattoo, ensure to open this conversation with your artist, and myself regarding timing, and pigment density, to ensure you don’t need to wait between each appointment.
