Ha ha sooo funny 🤣 I love it thanks AI
Everything is spot on apart from the coffee addiction , it’s more like tea ☕️
The last month we’ve only had 2 full sunny days 😤☔️
The rest has been heavy showers followed by sunshine... or torrential pins-and-needles rain that feels like it’s trying to sandblast your face 🤣
The only dry area has been the shed and stables for two horses. The rest have had to weather it out on the open, bleak hill or find a gully (that they don’t do😂)🌧️💨🐴
Yet not one horse has developed:
✅ Rain scald
✅ Mud fever
✅ Greasy heel
✅ Hoof abscesses or thrush
And that makes me so happy 🙌💛
I only rug 2 - Dancer she has a sensitive nervous system, Shatahn because he’s clipped
I know many of these common “horse problems” are often linked to gut health, immune function and nutrition. It takes a while to build but is so worth it 🙌
A healthy horse starts from the inside out 🌿
So today I’m feeling incredibly thankful for this sunshine and crazy wind helping everything dry out ☀️💨
Here’s hoping we get a few more sunny days before the next downpour! 🤞
How have your horses come through it?
Utilise your tree with many branches 🌴🐴
Different haynet heights and movement can actually be amazing enrichment while also helping the horse’s body 🙌
🌿 Haynets that swingGreat for core strength, balance, stretching and coordination — plus they make feeding more fun 😄
🌿 Haynets hung lowSupport more natural digestion and help encourage saliva production for better gut health 🤗
🌿 Haynets hung higherCan help with core stability, posture and reenacting natural browsing behaviours 🌳
A little variety in their environment can do wonders for both the body and brain 💛
Hugh 🥹💛
Imagine trying to race and work with not only a gut full of corn… but basically an Elastoplast bandage wrapped through your hindgut too 😔
It takes the brain a while to realise it no longer has to brace for that pain.
Now Hugh can canter, trot, roll and MOVE freely again 🙌Every week it’s getting easier and easier with neuroplasticity and fascia work ✨
He no longer acts like he’s dealing with muscle tie-up, and his lumbar roach is slowly disappearing as his gluteals start to switch on properly 💪
He is SO keen to exercise and has the best work ethic 🏎️💨
How good does he look 😍

Healing from the inside out 💛

Racehorses the diet is the issue … but honestly they could wait until they’re older too. 🐎💭
High grain diets are so destructive to the whole body, because the gut influences EVERYTHING.
When the gut is inflamed and unbalanced, vitamins and minerals struggle to be absorbed.
It can even interfere with lysine absorption (which is essential for muscle building and repair) 💪
Grain is cheap to feed…
and so many trainers are told to “feed more for energy”… even by vets 🤦♀️
But it doesn’t build true health.
It makes them fat on the inside.
There’s this common misconception that you can feed as much grain as you like as long as they get hay… and that is SO wrong 🤦♀️
You can easily tip them into hindgut acidosis.
They say around 2% bodyweight of starch is the max they can tolerate (and honestly… I think that’s still too much).
The scary part is… because they’re so used to just getting on with it, you often wouldn’t even know they’re suffering on the inside.
Hugh is in work and happy 🥹💛
You should’ve seen him zoom around the paddock this afternoon 🤣🏎️🏎️
Rolling and springing up like a baby again.
Most racehorses can barely even get down to roll because they’re so acidic in their body.
Hugh’s bounced back 🙌
And Ocean… he’s slowly coming back too 🌊✨
Do you think they can race on a gut healthy diet?
Hahaha Shatahn and I have been besties for 15 years… WOW 🥹💛
He’s always loved to bump me just like he does his other herd friends 🤣
Honestly I’m just waiting for the day he decides to toss me up in the air 🤪💀
When I talk to people it honestly sounds like it’s an Arabian gelding trait 😂
I swear he thinks I’m part of his herd…
As he wouldn’t bump Josie… at least he’s kinda polite 😝🐴
Some would say it’s bad manners, but I honestly feel like he’s reaching out and communicating what he wants which was to go out in the big paddock this pm
Just like a dog saying I wanna go for a walk 🤣

Not far off owning Dancer for 12 months 🥹💛
And today she was absolutely AMAZING out on the streets 🙌✨ 2km too!
Grace honestly thought she was going to be Miss Crazy 🤪 (because yes… she definitely can be 😂)
But I’ve really just given her the space to heal, and focused on feeding her appropriately to build her immune system and support her brain too 🧠🌿
Plus gentle exposure to small amounts of stress… while helping her feel safe with me 🤗
Horses teach you patience…
and they teach you that healing really does come from the inside out 🐴💛
Dancer was an in-hand Arabian show horse, and she won so many awards at the top level 🏆
But she came with a lot of emotional baggage… and a body that was broken too.
She is such a sweet mare, she just really needed time, space, and the right nutrients to start becoming herself again ✨
So proud of her today 🥹💛

It’s like clockwork…
