But after watching my mother-in-law come home from a hospital stay completely drained, I was reminded that it’s not the full story.

She hadn’t been sleeping well for a while - often typical as we age.

And let’s be honest—no one gets deep, restorative sleep in hospital.

So I suggested something simple: set two alarms each day for 20 minutes of intentional rest.

This year, I’ve set out to walk every day in 2025. I’ve missed only a couple of days so far (life happens!), and I’ve doubled up the next day to stay true to the journey. Each step has shown me how much walking calms my mind and invites a deeper sense of rest.
