The Second Bloom is now in store

This book was written for every woman who has ever looked in the mirror and wondered where she went.

The Second Bloom: An Invitation to Age Beautifully is not about turning back time. It is about understanding the changes, caring for yourself differently, and stepping into this next chapter with confidence, knowledge and grace.

Ageing is not the end of your beauty.

It is a new season.

A deeper beauty.
A wiser beauty.
A beauty that has lived, learned, softened and strengthened.

This book is a gentle reminder that you are not fading.

You are blooming again.

Copies are available in store now at Lyndall Platt Beauty.

Don’t forget your natural bra

We carefully moisturise our face, but often stop at the jawline.

The skin across the neck, décolletage, tops of the shoulders and breasts deserves the same daily attention. Think of this area as your natural bra - the delicate skin that helps support and protect the appearance of the chest.

Regular moisturising can help:

• Maintain hydration and skin-barrier strength
• Improve the appearance of softness and elasticity
• Reduce dry, crepey-looking texture
• Support smoother, more supple-looking skin
• Protect an area frequently exposed to sun and environmental damage

Massage your moisturiser over the neck, across the décolletage, over the shoulders and gently onto the breast skin each day.

While skincare cannot prevent natural changes in breast shape, keeping the skin hydrated, nourished and protected may help it look firmer, smoother and healthier over time.

And don’t forget your SPF sun exposure is one of the biggest contributors to premature skin ageing across the chest.

Your skincare routine shouldn’t finish at your face. Care for your natural bra, too.

It’s finally here… The Second Bloom is officially published on Amazon.

This book has been such a personal project for me. I have written it in between running my business, studying nutrition, graduating, seeing clients, creating courses, and living my very full Brisbane life.

But more than anything, this book was born from years of working with women ~ beautiful, clever, tired, changing, questioning, evolving women who are navigating ageing, hormones, skin changes, body changes, identity shifts and that strange feeling of becoming someone new while still trying to feel like themselves.

The Second Bloom is not about fighting ageing.

It is about understanding it.

It is about skin, hormones, nutrition, stress, self-worth, beauty, confidence and the way we speak to ourselves as we move through midlife and beyond.

It is an invitation to see ageing differently not as something to fear, hide or “fix”, but as another season of becoming.

A second bloom.

I’m so proud, emotional and grateful to finally share this with you.

Available now on Amazon.

I’m so excited to finally have these beautiful blends available in salon especially for my women navigating stress, burnout, fatigue, peri-menopause, skin inflammation and nervous system overload.

These aren’t your average “health powders.”
Medicinal mushrooms and tonic herbs have been traditionally used for centuries to support:
✨ Energy & vitality
✨ Skin hydration & glow
✨ Stress resilience
✨ Immunity & gut health
✨ Nervous system support
✨ Liver & hormonal wellbeing

Currently stocking:
🍄 Jing - stress & fatigue support
🍄 Tremella - the beauty hydration mushroom
🍄 Mason’s Mushrooms - immune & gut support

I love incorporating wellness from both the inside AND outside because beautiful skin is never just about skincare alone.

If you’re curious about which blend may suit you best, ask me next time you’re in salon.

What is this and why do they randomly start to appear after 40yo?

These little yellowish plaques around the eyes are called xanthelasma and they’re actually cholesterol deposits that sit under the skin.

They often begin appearing during midlife and hormonal changes, especially when metabolism, inflammation, insulin sensitivity, and cholesterol regulation start shifting.

For some women, they can appear completely “out of nowhere” even if they’ve never had cholesterol issues before.

Things that can contribute:
• Perimenopause & menopause hormonal changes
• Elevated cholesterol or triglycerides
• Blood sugar & insulin resistance
• Genetics
• Inflammation & liver overload
• Ageing and thinning skin around the eyes

They’re harmless medically in most cases, but they can become larger over time and many people dislike them cosmetically.

This is why skin can sometimes tell us what’s happening internally before blood tests even do.

If you suddenly notice these appearing, it’s worth checking:
✔ Cholesterol
✔ Triglycerides
✔ Blood sugar & insulin markers
✔ Overall metabolic health

Your skin is always communicating with you. ✨

Perimenopause doesn’t just change your mood, cycle or sleep… it changes your collagen too.

As hormones begin to shift, especially oestrogen, your skin can start to feel thinner, drier, less bouncy and not quite as firm as it used to.

That’s because collagen - the protein that gives your skin its structure, plumpness and strength naturally starts to decline, and hormonal change can make that decline feel much more noticeable.

And this is where so many women get stuck…

They keep buying more creams, more serums, more “firming” products…

But collagen support isn’t just topical.

Your skin needs support from the inside and the outside

Topical skincare helps protect, hydrate and nourish the skin barrier but your body also needs the building blocks to support collagen production internally.

That’s why collagen supplements can be such a beautiful addition during perimenopause and menopause, especially when paired with good skincare, enough protein, vitamin C, hydration and regular skin treatments.

Think of it like this:

Skincare feeds the surface.
Nutrition feeds the foundation.

If your skin has suddenly started feeling drier, looser, thinner or less glowy, it may not be that your products have “stopped working.”

Your hormones may have changed the way your skin behaves.

This is the season to work smarter with your skin, not harder.

Support the skin barrier.
Feed the body.
Protect your collagen.
Age beautifully, naturally and intentionally.

Entering my Second Bloom era…

A season of choosing health, nourishment and feeling truly well in my body.

Not chasing youth.
Not punishing myself.
Not pretending that perimenopause doesn’t bring change.

But learning how to support those changes with more intention, more knowledge and more care.

Your Second Bloom era is about:

✨ Understanding your changing body
✨ Supporting your metabolism
✨ Nourishing your hormones
✨ Caring for your skin from within
✨ Creating habits that help you feel energised, confident and well

This is the inspiration behind my Second Bloom Metabolic Rebalance - launching soon.

A beautiful new program created for women in perimenopause and beyond who are ready to feel more supported in this next chapter.

Because you are not fading.
You are blooming differently.
