Our beloved team member Alex said goodbye to her big brother Julian in the early hours of Monday morning.

After a 10 month battle fighting a very aggressive form of brain cancer, Jules passed away with family by his side. Julian is a father of 2 young children, husband, son, and a very special big brother to our dear Alex.

To all of our clients who have been rescheduled over the past few months, we thank you for your patience and flexibility. This has been an incredibly difficult time in Alex’s life, and the team at TEGANMAC.SKIN have been and continue to support Alex in whatever way we can.

A special thank you to Shanae and Annalise who have been covering Alex’s clients where possible, and making the sometimes difficult phone calls to move clients. We understand being rescheduled multiple times can be frustrating, but with context I’m sure you can now understand why we’ve had to move everyone around so much recently.

This has been an unpredictable, rapid and heartbreaking time for Alex and her family.

Alex will be taking some time away to focus on healing and rebuilding. When Alex is ready to return, I’m sure you’ll be gentle and gracious with welcoming her back to the clinic.

We were very lucky to have Jules come in for a facial a few months ago. Such a special experience for Alex to showcase her skills and treat Julian to one of her incredible treatments.

I speak to people all day about their skin, these are the common mistake people make that limit their results.

1. Irregular treatments/Not enough treatments.
When I say 4 CoolPeels, it’s not a random made up number, it’s because that will give you the wow factor results. If you stop at 1 or 2, you’ll never give your skin the chance to truly transform. Also, if you’re booking treatments too far apart, you loose all momentum. That will slow progress and you’ll most likely lose interest.

The fix: Follow the treatment plan recommended to you, commit to the process, and expect maintenance.

2. Not using the right skincare.
Trying to smooth wrinkles with lasers and needling but not using a retinol? Thats limiting. Trying to hydrate your skin with facials then going home to your foaming cleanser and skipping the Hyaluronic Acid? Limiting. Trying to fade sun damage but not using sunscreen everyday because you don’t like the way it feels? Very limiting!

The fix: If your skin concerns aren’t improving, the products may not be the best fit. Change things up. Opt for quality, follow the advice of your skin therapist.

3. You’re too relaxed about sunscreen. Got acne? Pigment? Rosacea? Signs of aging? Impaired barrier? Yep, all of these conditions benefit from sunscreen. It’s very simple, it’s easy to do, but so many people still don’t get it. Your skin will only be as good as your sunscreen habits.

The fix: Find a sunscreen you enjoy wearing, and wear it everyday. Wear a hat on walks. Opt for a spot in the shade. Easy stuff, massive impact.
