I’M HAVING SOME TIME OFF FROM EASTER TO ANZAC DAY…

Hellooooo!!! I have taken an accidental break from Instagram since reopening after our last lockdown. I’m sorry about that. The salon has been busy so I’ve been focusing on the hands-on stuff, as well as working on plans and improvements for the many aspects of my business, and then deep diving into continuing my professional development. I had a great coaching call about social media with the amazing and .salon.school so I’m feeling inspired and hoping to get back into Instagram. :) I have to say that I am not a big social media person, but I found that posting more during lockdown was really enjoyable because I saw how it is a great way to connect with my beautiful clients and other hair-doin’ people. 👏

Anywayyyyyy… I am now booked out this week, and will be closed from this Friday the 15th, to Tuesday the 26th. I’ll be back in the salon on Wednesday the 27th. That week, I may have appointments available during the day on Thursday the 28th (just waiting to hear back from a couple of clients), then it’s May! 🤦🏻‍♀️ How did that happen?!?! My next available Saturday appointments are the 28th of May.

If you’d like an appointment, please get in touch. The best way to contact me is by texting (phone calls would be fine except I work on my own without an assistant, so it can be hard for me to answer when I’m in the salon and it can end up being a game of phone tag!) I get back to clients as soon as I can but sometimes it may not be until the following day.

My contact hours are: Tuesday - Saturday: 9am - 5pm

I see clients in the salon: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

I hope you all have something nice planned for this coming long weekend, something that will give you the feeling you are in need of. Lots of love ❤️😘

What a wonderful day of professional development with the fabulous Mr. D In his words, ‘we s**gged, mulleted and s**g-mulleted’.

I am so grateful to be in an industry where there are such talented people like Mr. D, who are happy and willing to share their skills and knowledge.

I have been dry cutting more and more over the past couple of years because for so many heads of hair, it is the best technique for me to get the best result, so it is the perfect time for me to do some further training with someone who specialises in that. And when one of my biggest things is encouraging clients to embrace their natural hair, it is so lovely and comforting to spend time with another hairdresser whose beliefs align with my own. Mr. D loves frizz even more than me! (his hashtag is )

And a big shout out to my beautiful client Playing with your hair is always so much fun and yesterday was no exception. :)

The delightful Ingrid. 🤸

❤️ Two of my favourite things: curls and grey hair. ❤️

What looks like madly chopping away at curly hair whilst its dry, is actually picking and choosing the right pieces to remove to enhance the curl and bring shape back after months of growth. If Ingrid would let me, I'd play with her hair for hours! 🤣

Grey hair is beautiful in all of its variations. It often takes time filled with mental preparation, support, encouragement as well as the colour journey itself, to take clients from completely covering their grey to more of a creative colour or back to natural. It's a journey I thoroughly enjoy. 👏 I am here for you! 😘

Ingrid has Blue Black foils placed throughout, focused on her darker grey areas to make the white and light grey hair pop. The last couple of times, we’ve been playing with Sunset Copper foils, adding more this time which has hit the sweet spot. 🍭

Before and after of one of the many hair transformations happening after a loooooong lockdown!

I have been biting at the bit to get back into all things hair but I’ve been especially excited to see my red and copper clients.

is one of my top hair idols so during lockdown I started her online course ‘Hairpainting for Redheads’ which is bursting with inspiration and handy tips. Kristina Russell is, among many things, a red hair expert. She is one of those talented and amazing humans who enthusiastically shares all of her knowledge with her fellow hairdressers. I have binged on her podcast , taken part in her zoom classes, am a member of her Facebook group ‘Colour Loving Hairdressers Club’ and have contacted her with hair questions which she responds to ridiculously quickly. I am so grateful to her in particular, but also to others like her that are helping and supporting hairdressers and the hairdressing industry, especially during recent challenging times.

I’M BAAAAAACK!!! Starting back in the salon last Friday was amazing. 💥💥💥

The hair transformations with post-lockdown locks have been dramatic, heaps of fun and soooo rewarding. It has been very busy so I haven't had time to take many photos of them (and have noticed that I'm out of practice!) but am hoping to get back into it now that I'm back in the swing of things.

Getting to see all of my clients is filling my heart with joy. You all mean so much to me. I want to say thank you again to all of you who have been so supportive of me and my business throughout the pandemic and numerous lockdowns. I am more grateful than you could know. 😘

I have finally finished booking everyone from the waiting list. 👏 Thank you for your patience with me while I worked through that logistically complicated situation.

I am sure I've contacted everyone but if you haven't heard from me, please let me know. If you haven't contacted me and realise you need to get your hair did before Xmas (eight weeks away!!!) please get in touch. November is booked out and December is booking up fast.

SO GOOD TO BE BACK PEOPLE!!! Hope you’re all enjoying non-lockdown life. # # #

LORETTA AND A REOPENING UPDATE

When I was a child, this is the colour I imagined Goldilocks to have. 👩 Medium blonde roots made with Natural and Violet, to a golden blonde made with Natural, Cool, Violet and a dash of Smokey Pearl.

🔴⬇️ PLEASE READ ⬇️ 🔴

💥 I’m not taking bookings just yet but it won’t be much longer, I promise. Please be patient with me when I work my way through the waitlist which will be a time consuming process. I assure you, I will be in touch with all of you soon.

💥 Thank you to everyone who has responded to my post and text about my waitlist with your availabilities and required service. This has been so helpful and will make booking much easier.

💥 While you’re waiting for your appointment: it’s a great time to start sourcing some images from Instagram, Pinterest etc. of your dream hair. Let me know what you’re considering and send me your pics when I contact you so we can chat about it. This will also ensure that I allow the appropriate amount of time for your appointment.

💥 I’m certain I’ve responded to everyone who has contacted me with their availabilities and their required service, but on the off-chance that you’ve contacted me but haven’t heard back, please shoot me a reminder.

💥 HOW TO BOOK: If you haven’t already, please text me on: 0402 079 039 if you would like to be added to the waitlist.

💥 To recap: the first clients I will be booking are those who had appointments cancelled due to lockdown, then regulars who have requested an appointment and then new clients.

💥 A reminder: as per government requirements, I can only see you if you’re double vaxxed. When contacting me, please remember that your hair appointment will need to be made 2-3 weeks after your second vaccination.

❤️ Thank you for your support. 🙏

Sending lots of love to everyone and so looking forward to seeing you all very soon. # # #

Paula has so much hair! It makes for much fun removing weight and texturising. I love the endless possibilities of a s**g cut, from subtle to extreme.

I am beyond excited by Sunday’s announcement of potentially reopening on Tuesday the 26th of October. (Sorry I haven’t posted sooner. I just needed a bit of time to process the information and to think about the best course of action.)

⭐️ I will start booking appointments closer to the date, when we have a definitive reopening date. We’ve all been here before!

⭐️ I am asking clients to please text me with your availabilities and required service. I will be doing my best to book people in the order that they were cancelled, and then the order of new requests. Please be patient - I promise you will be hearing from me. :)

⭐️ As with all hairdressers, there are many people to see and I will be doing my best to see everyone as quickly as possible, but it will take some time.

⭐️ I will be allowing extra time between clients to avoid crossover and to allow for extra cleaning. Clients will need to be double vaccinated in line with government requirements.

🥰 My clients mean so much to me. Your support during lockdowns with messages, calls, zoom cuts and by buying products is appreciated more than you know. 🙏

I absolutely cannot wait to see all of you again and brighten your days with some fresh hair and good chats. # # #

I love this dark coppery red. I miss playing with reds and coppers on your hair

My lockdown day has been brightened by receiving my order of some new play things to add to my collection of tools and products. My mannequin heads will love them for now, but soon I will be back and getting to use them on the hair of real humans. Can’t wait!

Kat is one of those lucky humans that can pull off any hairstyle she likes.

Her hair had been feeling dry, so I recommended Prescriptive Solutions Moisture Balance shampoo and Moisture Revive conditioner.

They’re gentle, and maintain The Four Natural Balances in the hair: protein, natural oils, pH and moisture to restore dry and damaged hair. They are sulphate and paraben free.

The native plant extracts have been ethically sourced from an Australian fair trade company that wild harvests in a sustainable manner, without degradation to the local environment.
