Let me reintroduce myself...

I’m Dani 🤗 Hairdresser, Makeup Artist, Educator, and the face behind Blown Away by Dani.

My journey started at 14 years old as a salon tea and tidy. I lasted just six weeks in my first salon before realising it wasn’t the right fit, but that didn’t stop me. I quickly found another salon and fell in love with the industry.

The reality wasn’t always glamorous. Stained fingernails, dermatitis, hair splinters, hair in my food, and endless cleaning duties. But I didn’t care. I loved every minute of it. The smell of hairspray, the salon buzz, the clients, the conversations ✨I was hooked✨

I completed my apprenticeship in a busy shopping centre salon, eventually becoming a Team Leader and later managing two salons and large teams. Along the way, I added makeup and beauty to my skill set because I loved helping people feel good about themselves.

After several years, I took the leap into self-employment. I rented chairs, built my business, and spent weekends travelling to weddings and special events.

In 2016, I hung up my salon scissors to chase another dream — teaching.

Since then, I’ve worked with incredible brands, companies, students, and clients. There have been challenges, lessons, wins, and plenty of drama along the way, but one thing has never changed:

I still love what I do.

Because it’s never really been about hair and makeup.

It’s about people. 🤍
