Forearm Prick Testing Prior to Volumising Treatments

Cosmetic Nurses Sarah and Mana, discuss the role of forearm prick testing when considering the use of dissolving agents. This may be explored prior to, or in the context of, treatments involving volumising products, including lip treatments, cheek enhancement, jawline treatments, skin boosters, among other treatments that involve the use of synthetic complex sugar being administered into the face or body, via way of needle entry.

Forearm prick testing is a precautionary step used to assess for potential sensitivity before a dissolving agent is administered. This forms part of a broader clinical assessment and treatment planning process.

All treatments carry risks and are not suitable for everyone. Individual recommendations are made following a comprehensive consultation.
