In 1976 I opened the doors to my first salon, I never dreamt that it would successfully run for over 45 years.

I met my wife Anita there who then started her apprenticeship and has now become well renowned in the industry. She also became not only my partner in life but in the business.

We have also had the pleasure of two of our three children working at the salon with us , our daughter Ariana and son Aaron.

It is time for me to close the doors in Garema Place.
Anita and I would like to thank our loyal clientele which have become our friends, talented staff that have come and gone over the years and all the people we have had the pleasure of meeting in our time at Anton’s. It is truely an end of an era, but like they say, when one door closes another one opens.

In 2022, Aaron and Anita will be opening a new salon at . We look forward to seeing all our wonderful clients at the new space! This next chapter for our family is an exciting one and we appreciate everyone’s support and encouragement thus far.

On our final day of trading I was filled with emotions and pride. I sat down as the last client and Aaron cut my hair for the last time at Anton’s Hair Studio.

Just a few things before you call or visit

We will be back as of the 15th of October, with limit capacity. We will be in contact with everyone who has had their appointment cancelled due to lockdown to reschedule over the next couple of days. We will be offering extended business hours when reopen the salon.

If you need to contact us, you can call our salon phone on 62480799 between 11am and 2pm weekdays, until we reopen on 15 October, when we will be back to normal business hours. Alternatively you can email or DM us outside of these hours.

😷 Face masks to become mandatory in the ACT when out in the community, from midnight tonight.

There are no active cases in the ACT. However, the safety of our community is paramount, so we are bringing in this requirement as a proactive measure to support the strengthened travel restrictions that we have put in place.

This new requirement means, when people are indoors with people they don’t usually live or work with, or on public transport, they must wear a face mask.

For example, masks must be worn in:
⚬ supermarkets, shopping centres and retail,
⚬ hospitality venues including restaurants, cafes and other licenced venues,
⚬ other restricted business activities where there is close contact with the public, including hairdressers, beauty and tanning salons and gyms, and
⚬ high-risk settings, such as health and aged care facilities.

For hospitality venues, mask requirements will align with those currently in effect in regional NSW, meaning employees who have contact with patrons, must wear a mask at all times. Patrons are strongly encouraged to wear a mask while in the venue but can remove the face covering while eating and drinking.

Although the use of face masks will become mandatory from midnight tonight (Monday 28 June 2021), there will be a 48-hour transition period for businesses and the community to adapt to these new requirements.

In addition to wearing a face mask, the community is also reminded about all the other important actions they can take to be COVID safe.

First and foremost, stay home if unwell and get tested with any COVID-19 symptoms. When out in Canberra, make sure that you are using the Check In CBR app. In crowded spaces, keep your distance.
