Celebrating 6 years of The Locker Room Barbershop 🎉

We had an awesome morning yesterday, thank you to everyone who came down 🙌🙏🏼

We have always been proud of our wall and the message it has shared over the last 6 years. Our wall is a significant piece of the shop and we felt it was time to share a new message. We hope this message speaks to others the way it spoke to me during my toughest days. When tomorrow seemed so far way, taking it one day at a time allowed me
to feel a sense of achievement each day. That made all the difference.

A big thank you to our community for keeping our vision alive. Thank you to the team ._______ we wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you for the art and helping to bring these messages to life. 🙏🏼

ITS OUR 6TH BIRTHDAY!! 🙌🥳

This year we’re doing something different and making it extra special.

We’re putting a new message on our wall. Something we are excited to share. A message that had a huge impact for me during my toughest days. One that someone out there might need to see on the exact day they walk past it.

Come down, share the morning with us, connect, and watch master artist bring it to life 😍🙌 adding the final touches to something special 🔥

WE NEED YOUR HELP.
We’ve left space for you to be part of it.

Write a message to someone doing it tough…
Or write the words YOU needed to hear when you were.

Paint pens will be there, leave something from the heart.
Because no one should feel like they’re doing it alone.

WHAT’S ON:

* Sausage sizzle (better than Bunnings… no debate 🌭😂)
* Half-priced merch
* Live graffiti
* Good chat. Good people. Good energy.
* pre orders on new merch

If you’re a small business and want to contribute, we’d love to hear from you.

Bring a mate. Bring the kids. Bring the dog. Bring your neighbour.
Let’s get around something that actually means something ❤️

Share to a mate and drop a comment if we’ll see you there 🫶🏼

Q. Why do you offer these events? They seem a little “odd”
A. Being alone with your own thoughts for many is one of the most scariest things you can do. Which is why we do everything in our power to avoid it. We distract, numb, and escape any situation that risks that for us, which is why our mental health suffers first. We become disconnected to ourselves and eachother.

Our events are designed to provide an opportunity to reconnect with that feeling within you, you may not have felt for a long while.. Peace. Stillness. Calm.

This Saturday we will be at Dairy Farmers Hill at the Arboretum to enjoy a stunning sunrise, to regulate our nervous systems, and do it as a team so you are not alone in something that may feel unfomfortable.

If you haven’t set a new years goal yet, this is your invitation to do something for yourself your future self will thank you for.

The perfect start to your day ☀️

For many, this season brings connection, laughter and celebration.

For others, it can turn the volume up on what’s already been a tough year.

• Missing someone who should be here, or facing xmas after a relationship has ended
• Family dynamics that feel hard to navigate.
• Financial pressure that sits in the chest.
• The expectation to be “festive” when you’re already exhausted.
• Scrolling through everyone elses highlight reel and wondering why you’re not feeling the same.

If you know someone who’s had a rough year, check in on them. A simple “How are you really going?” can mean more than you think.

And if this season feels heavy for you:

• It’s okay to set boundaries.
• It’s okay to say no.
• You don’t need to force joy to be worthy of rest.
• Struggling doesn’t mean you’ve failed, it means your human

If things start to feel overwhelming, try this:

Inhale through the nose for 4,
Slowly exhale through the mouth for 8.
Allow your shoulders to drop and your body to soft with every exhale. Repeat for a few minutes until your body starts to settle

You don’t have to carry it alone this xmas 🫶🏼
Lets look out for one another this holiday season 🤍

When we think of depression we often picture sadness, low motivation or staying in bed all day. But what if I told you it often shows itself in the body first!?

Depression can feel like constant tiredness, tight shoulders and neck, a sore back, or a gut that’s always off. You might think it’s just stress or lack of sleep, but often, it’s your body quietly saying, “I’m not okay.”

Our bodies carry what our minds can’t always express. When we don’t express, it gets stored in our bodies. When life gets heavy, your body feels the weight too.

And that’s not weakness, that’s being human.

This Mental Health Month, take a moment to check in.

Notice how your body feels.
Notice what it’s trying to tell you.
And remember you don’t have to carry it alone.

Understanding that depression can start in the body, not just the mind, can help you recognise the signs earlier and reach out for support sooner preventing the spiral.

In short, our body and minds are linked, and when your mind is struggling, the body feels it too.

Your body keeps the score,
so let’s start listening to it. 💙

Have a beautiful week fam!

As the Locker Room has grown and evolved over the years, we have naturally found ourselves in different stages of life, which in turn has required us to grow also.

Now, as fathers and partners, we realise the impact our nervous system has on ourselves and those around us, and its relationship with our mental health.

A regulated nervous system = calm
A disregulated nervous system = reactive

The evolution of the barbershop has seen us create spaces to suit the different stages of life we’ve gone through.

I believe your story will be someone else’s survival guide. These spaces were the catalyst for change in my own mental health journey and is why we offer it to our community now. Not as the only solution, but an opportunity to not walk alone.

At the heart of these spaces is a focus on regulating the nervous system. And in doing so, we support your mental, emotional and physical health.

Our community is always growing, and when your ready, we always have space for you

What iv realised from standing behind the barbers chair for many years is that there are men who are wanting to start working on themselves but simply don’t know where to start? where to go? how to make change?

This event is designed to do all of that. An introduction into what it means and looks like to work on yourself in a safe environment.

This is what “Home of the Brave” stands for.
Your safe space and environement to safely navigate what stands between you and the peace you seek.
