Dietary intervention can serve as a complementary approach to managing symptoms of ADHD holistically. Current scientific literature shows diet patterns may affect the risk for ADHD symptoms.

Recently, researchers have begun to explore the role of nutrients and supplementations for ADHD. While no pill or diet can cure ADHD, certain nutrients have demonstrated their beneficial role in managing ADHD symptoms. These include zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, choline, magnesium, and iron 🥑🥚🥩🥦🥛🍌

It is a common belief that when you cook vegetables, the HEAT TENDS TO DESTROY NUTRIENTS but this principle may NOT BE TRUE FOR ALL VEGETABLES.

In case of carrots, it is found that cooked carrots tend to be healthier and more nutritious.

A study published in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry shows that cooking preserves the antioxidant carotenes found in carrots, which makes it more readily available to be absorbed by the body when they are cooked.

The body converts this beta-carotene into vitamin A, an essential nutrient that plays an important role in maintaining healthy vision, bone growth and boosting the immune system. It is a fat-soluble vitamin which is not lost when the foods containing them are cooked.

* It’s common to hear that water is essential for your health. But why?
This substance makes up a majority of your body weight and is involved in many important functions, including:

> flushing out waste from your body
> regulating body temperature
> helping your brain function
You get most of your water from drinking beverages, but food also contributes a small amount to your daily water intake.

There is no such thing as a “bad” food, but there are some foods you should try not to have on a regular basis. Because fast food is high in sodium, saturated fat, trans fat, and cholesterol, it isn’t something you should eat often.

# Eating too much over a long period of time can lead to issues such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and unwanted weight gain.
Since eating a lot of trans fats can cause certain heart health problems, the FDA (Federal Food and Drug Administration) has required that artificial trans fats from partially hydrogenated oils be removed from foods sold at restaurants by 2020.

People also often drink soda when they eat fast food which adds “empty” calories (calories that don’t make you feel full or provide any nutrients besides sugar) to the meal. It’s helpful to remember that with fast food, moderation is important.
