A Tribute to the Legendary Lion King

🌿 Honouring the Red Road King

Some of you may have seen the news from the wildlife community: the Red Road Lion King has passed. He was a legendary lion — a survivor, a ruler, and a symbol of raw, solitary strength. Even though he lived far from us, his story reached people around the world who care about the lives of other creatures, even those we will never meet.

For the past month, I’ve carried a heaviness in my chest without fully understanding why. Today, I finally cried, and that release felt like the beginning of healing. His passing touched me deeply because his life mirrored something familiar: facing challenges alone, enduring quietly, and rising again without applause.

Not everyone follows wildlife stories, and many don’t feel connected to animals living on distant lands. But for those of us who do, these moments remind us that beauty is not only skin-deep — it’s also in empathy, in connection, and in recognising strength wherever it exists.
