We didnโt hit 200,000 responses on our Bloody Big Survey over the weekend, so itโs back to the office in my pad dress!
You can take the survey here: https://www.sharethedignity.org.au/end-period-poverty/bloody-big-survey-2024
This dress was made for me by Girl . Shed and crafted out of all recycled materials (well not recycled pads, but pads we could not pass on as they were opened and seconds)

Today's A Mighty Girl Community Pick is perfect for celebrating today's anniversary of the massive 1913 Women's Suffrage Parade, a major turning point in the fight for American women's right to vote: "How Women Won the Vote: Alice Paul, Lucy Burns, and Their Big Idea" by Susan Campbell Bartoletti. When Alice Paul met Lucy Burns in a British jail after a suffrage protest, it was the start of a beautiful friendship โ and an alliance that would transform America! They returned home with bold plans to bring new ideas U.S. Women's Suffrage Movement and push for a long overdue Constitutional amendment guaranteeing women's right to vote. To grab the public attention, they organized giant events, like a grand suffrage parade the day before Woodrow Wilson's inauguration and a two-year long picket outside of the White House, and they endured prison and hunger strikes. They reinvigorated the activists who had been fighting for women's suffrage for over seven decades and attracted countless new supporters who refused to be silenced, and together, their determination made the 19th Amendment a reality. This captivating book by a Newbery Honor winner uses engaging storytelling and cartoon-like art to tell Alice and Lucy's story, while interspersing dozens of historic photos and fascinating sidebars with maps, timelines, and newspaper clippings throughout, making this a fun, engrossing introduction to this momentous period in American history. Highly recommended for ages 7 to 12.

Can I get a show of hands or just a deep grumbling for every time you've had a man look completely baffled when you speak of doing this.
Wishing each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas

In the current world, we no longer consider female musicians to be exceptional in and of themselves. There may be more women than men on our lists of favorite rockers, pop stars, solo singer-songwriters, and other artists, depending on the subgenre. ๐๐๐

Itโs hard to imagine today as we enjoy this day with our family and friends surrounded by food, love and the basic of necessities. That today, yesterday, the day before there are thousands and thousands of women without a bed to sleep in and somewhere safe to call home. Whilst this struggle is real, so is the fact that these women are using wadded up toilet paper in their underwear to deal
with their period.
Is this ok? No way! This is why in August you can help make a real difference to women and girls doing it tough. HOW DO YOU HELP?
Pick up a packet of pads or tampons and drop them off to one of our thousand plus collection points around Australia. ๐
Or you can donate a few dollars online to help us to Share the Dignity. ๐
The most powerful thing you can do is to share this post to let everybody know. I donโt believe that there is a woman in Australia that would not be empathetic to the fact that women have their period and no access to sanitary items.
Where is your closest collection point? Tomorrow kicks of Share the Dignityโs second collection drive for the year.
During August, you will find big pink collection boxes at the front of every Woolworths where donations will be made to those in need of period products. You will also find that some of your local businesses and gyms have volunteered to be drop off points as well.
When your doing your next grocery shop, pop a period product into your trolley and drop it into the collection box on your way out. Every donation is welcomed and appreciated. ๐๐ป
We can't wait to see collection boxes on display in Woolworths supermarkets as of next week! ๐
Just one week to go now! In case you donโt already know our Dignity Drives are where we ask our amazing community to donate period products to help a woman, girl or person with a period who is doing it tough. Each night 53,974 women and girls donโt have a place to call home and we want to ensure that at the very least they can manage their periods with dignity.
So please, if you can, consider donating to help us Share the Dignity this August. In one week you will see our collection points nationwide.
