That’s a wrap on 2025! 🎉

What a year — huge highs, tough lows and everything in between. With the cost of living biting us all in the butt, the beauty industry has felt the flow-on effects, and like many of you, we’ve focused on surviving rather than growing. Techs are buying what they need, not what they want, and nearly every RainbowRealm dollar has gone straight back into restocking. We haven’t grown, and that ok.

Behind the scenes it’s been just as hectic. Taryn juggled family, FIFO life, a busy salon, RainbowRealm stock at home and a full house renovation (including a very on-brand black & rainbow pool 🌈). I tackled my final year of a Bachelor of Science, closed Realm Nail Studio to get through it, watched my son get married, sold our home and moved to property — and I’m proud to say I graduated with a High Distinction!

We may have felt overwhelmed at times, lost our marbles and forgot where the scissors were but we kept pushing to keep RainbowRealm going and support our customers. We hope in 2026 we can see new colours, product development and growth again.

To our gorgeous customers — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We see you, appreciate you and love you. ❤️ We’re excited for 2026 and already have a few ideas brewing!

The joys of manufacturing!

We know how much you all love our Winter and Luna colourverse and are probably wondering where it’s gone!

The latest batch of black and white colourverse came in not too long ago and they just weren’t right…. Our manufacturer had changed the formula to a new TPO free version as they have stopped manufacturing our original formula. The formula they sent us is no where near the pigment load or viscosity we had formulated for Colourverse.
It was not acceptable and we instructed them to reformulate to match the quality of our original formula.

After reformulating and testing we now have an equivalent replacement. The quality is just as good as the Hema free Colourverse you all know and love!

What does this change mean to you?
Other than Winter and Luna being about a week or two away from restocking, the new formula is now also TPO free. (Which will gradually replace all stock as colours are replaced)

Do we agree with the TPO ban, how it was introduced, the scientific rigour behind it or what it means for the Australian and NZ industry….. that’s a discussion for another day. 🤦🏼‍♀️🧐

Most manufacturers are changing their formulas to meet the new European requirements - which means that we also must pivot our formulas. But in accepting that change we absolutely had to make sure that our quality was not compromised.

And we are happy to report that all the crazy, chaos and work behind the scenes has meant that we have been able to navigate this with as little disruption to you all as possible.
