This beautifully crafted wooden keepsake box features an inlaid brass crescent moon, rendered with a serene human face in the tradition of celestial folk art and Art Nouveau symbolism.

Constructed from richly toned hardwood, this small lidded box was likely intended as a jewellery casket, trinket box, or treasured keepsake container. The polished brass moon creates a striking contrast against the warm timber grain, lending the piece an unmistakably dreamlike quality.

The moon motif has long symbolised intuition, imagination and mystery, making this a deeply personal object as much as a decorative one. Whether used to store jewellery, letters, talismans or precious mementos, it feels like an object designed to hold stories.
