Sadie the cleaning lady look, coming in hot! 🔥🤭
Thanks to my beautiful friend and breast cancer fighter and survivor for sending this head wrap, plus another down from QLD. 🩷🩷🩷
So my planning scan for Radiation Therapy is next Wednesday, and the following Wednesday, I start my rounds.
I'm doing 25 rounds all up over 5 weeks.
Every weekday and weekends off. The main side effects are fatigue and burns. There is a risk that I could get capsular constructure and need another implant revision surgery. Praying I don't need to 🤞🏼🙏🏼. I don't have anything apart from skin buffering the implant where my positive margins were, so the risk is a little higher.
The last round should be 28th of August!! Then active treatment (apart from hormone blockers) will be completed!!!💃🏼✨️🎉
My hair is starting to come back, so I'm looking like chicken little or a sprouting potato. Some of my eyelashes and eyebrow hairs are coming out 😫. I thought I got away with not losing any! Hopefully no more come out.🤞🏼🙏🏼
Bone pain, muscle aching, and mouth issues have been annoying after this chemo round, but things should start looking up from now on. ❤️💪🏼

Last chemo 2 different types each round, 3 months done!!
For some reason, I'm quite emotional today.
Unfortunately, they dont let us ring a bell or celebrate where I am because of the other lifelong patients, which I understand but would still like to be able to celebrate in some way.
It has been a tough ride, especially some days, and with so much other stuff going on. I'm super grateful for so much, though, especially , taking me to every round so Adam can work. ❤️
I'm grateful to Adam and all of my family and friends. I'm so blessed to have so many amazing people in my life.
Another chapter done, and the next is radiation, I find out more about my regime on Friday.
Almost at the finish line. 💪🏼❤️✨️

3rd chemo happening, only 1 left to go in 3 weeks! After I'll be having around 15 - 20 radiation treatment. I'll be on 2 types of hormone blockers for 5-10 years, but only 1 type, I think, when I decide to have my fallopian tubes and ovaries removed before I'm 40. Being that I'm BRCA2 positive, it increases my chances around 40% to 70% of getting fallopian tube and ovarian cancer. So, being in menopause is just my life now. I'm praying I don't get pain or sickness like the last 2 times, and I can manage it 🙏🏼🩷.
The pink lady match is coming up in 2 weeks, and I'm so excited to be one of the Breast Cancer Network Australia's ambassadors. It's so important to bring awareness, especially to younger people, about this horrible disease. It's not just an older people disease anymore!! 🎀

In 2 weeks on the 29th, I start 1 of 4 rounds of chemo, and rounds are 3 weeks apart. I was given a choice by my oncologist, and even though I have a good prognosis of 94% of no reassurance within the next 5 years, I was able to go to 96% with 4 rounds of chemo. The 96% sounded better! As my oncologist said, I'm young and have a family. I'm going to do what I can to keep myself cancer free.
95% of people lose their hair, especially within the first 2-3weeks. I've chosen not to cold cap, ad it can hurt your scalp and you still lose some hair. I'm potentially going to bite the bullet and take my hair before the chemo does. I think I would feel physically sick having chunks of hair on my pillow or just coming out.
I'll 100% be donating my hair to Wigs 4 Kids, so my hair can be turned into a wig for a child with cancer or alopecia.
I'm going to look and feel horrible for a bit, but I'll get a wig, and I'll be ok!
It definitely hasn't sunk in properly yet, but when it does, I don't want to be here for it, haha. 😭😂
I find out about radiation this coming Friday.
I have some beautiful family that want to shave their hair with me. 🥹🥰

The breast surgeon said his happy with my surgery and he removed the invasive cancer (stage 2), and the DCIS (stage 0/ pre cancer). I had heaps of DCIS which some was right on the edge of my tissue that was removed. His pretty confident that they got it all and that I'm cancer free!! 🥰🎉
Because it was on the edge of my breast tissue (they like to have clear margins), my age, the gene mutation (BRCA2) and for a safety net I still potentially might need chemo and radiation. I see my oncologist next Friday and will await an appointment from the radio therapist. Stoked that I'm cancer free 🙌🏼.
I still have to wait to find out my treatment plan though, which is a bit frustrating. From what I suspect I still have a journey ahead of me but my prognosis is looking really good! 🥰🙌🏼✨️
I'm so happy, but I'm so tired, emotional, moody and flat. I think being upbeat, being ok (even though my head wants to explode), positive and not feeling as bad as I thought that I would when I came home from hospital has taken its toll on me, I'm now feeling exhausted! Being in hospital for 5 days on so many medications with drain tubes coming out of both breasts for 4 days was a different world lol. Having the drains removed was gross! But i felt like I was more free. The breast care nurse also said that the medication I'm on,ages the body - which makes sense as I'm in menopause. Also my Willow has been missing since I went into hospital - 2 weeks tomorrow 😭.
I'm healing well and have only been on Panadole and Nurofen during the day, at night time I have something stronger to help sleep. My non cancer side has been the most uncomfortable and sore but it's getting there. My reconstruction is better then most people's so I am very lucky, I have some imperfections but I'll deal with them later. Coming to terms with having MY ni***es removed has been quite hard and confronting, I'm sure I'll feel empowered soon though and will get them tattooed later if I feel I want to.
I hate that the fear of it returning is going to be with me forever! Love that at this moment I'm cancer free!!!

This time next week, I will be one day post-op after having my skin-sparing double mastectomy, which includes both areola's removed. I'll have immediate implant reconstruction on both sides. I've been so busy with the move that I haven't had much time to process 'what's next'. I also keep just thinking that it is just some simple procedure, until when the hospital called today and explained it as major surgery! I could be under for 2-3 hours if all goes to plan. The surgeons will be separating and removing all of my breast tissue from under my skin and the lining over my chest muscle. They said I'll be staying in hospital anywhere from 3 to 7 days. The tissue on my right breast will contain my 2 tumours. All of both breasts will be sent off to the lab for testing. 1-2 weeks after surgery, I'll find out my treatment plan going forward. Recovery after the op can take a couple of months until starting to move properly again.
This week, it's all been hitting me a bit more that what is happening is reality and not some nightmare 😢. I'm super scared and anxious about so many things. I will be happy to get the little bombs out of me, though. Thank you again to everyone for the love and support that you have shown me and my family through this bizarre time.
Much love. ❤️
