Here's why layering serums are a must to fully benefit from your money well spent skin care range.

Layering serums approach it allows for maximum absorption, targeting the treatment of multiple skin concerns, and prevents active ingredients from cancelling each other out. While mixing might seem faster, it can dilute the concentration of ingredients and cause them to sit on the surface, whereas layering from thinnest to thickest allows each formula to pe*****te effectively.

• Wait Between Layers: Allow 20-30 seconds for each serum to absorb (gently massage on the area) or until the skin feels dry before applying the next one.
• Start with Water-Based: Apply watery serums first, followed by gel-like, and finally, oil-based ones.
• Use the "Sandwich" Method: For potent ingredients like Retinol, apply a hydrating serum before and after to reduce potential irritation.

***Extra tips that I found very effective these past few years are my go-to favourite skin care range from "La Clinica," Niacimid & Retinol. This combination is highly effective for treating anti-aging concerns, acne, and hyperpigmentation without compromising skin comfort.

If new to this product (make sure to do skin patch test on the most sensitive area before using them on your skin). Alternatively, Niacinamide can also be used in the morning to keep the skin barrier protected, with retinol applied in the evening.

** Retinol, a Vitamin A derivative, works by penetrating deep into the skin to stimulate cell turnover and accelerate collagen production. It accelerates epidermal renewal, effectively reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and acne while improving skin density and texture. It is typically applied at night, as it can cause sensitivity.

** Niacinamide serum (Vitamin B3) is a versatile, skin-friendly active ingredient that strengthens the skin barrier, regulates oil production, and minimizes pore appearance. It effectively brightens skin, reduces hyperpigmentation and acne marks, and calms inflammation, making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
