It's been a wonderful journey but like all good things it now comes to end. Sorry everyone - have appreciated your support over many years, but it is now time to close the page. Another farshun album! Thoughts ?

Just to have a look at these fashions on the older woman = all of these are in their 50s and 60s.

To be clear, I have never watched any version of Bachelor and won't start now!

I have comments as a stylist but will post separately - I don't want to shame any of the ladies here who are putting themselves out there in a very brave fashion.

Righty-ho - what do you think? Granted you will always prefer your own colour palette, even if you haven't defined what it is!

A stylist looks at - how flattering or otherwise the colour choice is; good proportions; flattering overall shape; FIT!; and a style personality that is in sync with the wearer.

Red carpets are by design showcases for what is "on-trend". A very long time ago women would emulate what royalty was wearing.

Now everything is on show (unfortunately that is too often literal 😂). People sometimes ask me why I feature celebrity photos. It's because once you identify people who are like you in colouring/ body shape/ style personality you can see what works on them and what doesn't. e.g picture Nicole Kidman in goth with black-dyed hair...hmmm doesn't work does it?

Brown has been avoided on the red carpet for some very good reasons. See if you can spot some!

One brown I like is the coffee-bean black-brown - but the orangey, reddish and purplish varieties can take great skill from a colour consultant to get right.
