Mindfulness is such an important practice given how busy and fast paced our lives have become.
Practicing mindfulness allows you to decrease stress, improve general health, encourage connectedness to one’s body and self and increases general feelings of wellness. What’s not to love?
Some of my favourite ways to practice mindfulness include:
❤ Meditation
❤ Take some deep, intentional breaths
❤ Notice your senses, what are you seeing, feeling, hearing, tasting or smelling?
❤ Mindful movement.

Yoga means connection, bringing together, union. Early on, yoga for me was simply a pretty chilled out fitness class. I quickly learned that the physical practice was an equal union of breath, balance, strength, flexibility, and focus – and as a lover of personal development, this is really where my understanding of yoga broadened. Yoga became a home I would return to when I was anxious, lethargic, unbalanced, flustered, stressed, and even hopeful, confident, calm.
Yoga is passion, and I am passionate about creating a truly safe space to practice in. Physically, yogasana’s effect on me has been the following: using strength to avoid harming my body via hyper-extension, healthier flexibility, improved balance, some increase in strength, and deeper natural breathing.
Yoga has affected my emotional life extraordinarily. From helping my manage anxiety and depression, to giving me mental and emotional space, to giving me challenges to overcome, to even simply making me feel good and healthy and happy. It gives me space, either as a break from life, to breathe, or as a reflection on life, to work out where I’m at and where I want to be. It has engaged me spiritually. I’ve always been drawn to spirituality and yoga was a gateway for me to explore my connection to the earth and to the energies around me.
Yoga is an exercise – physically, mentally, spiritually. It connects me to myself, others, the earth and its energies. It teaches me discipline, encourages love and overcoming challenges and patience, and it can be fun and silly and sweet. It’s something I am lucky enough to be able to partake in, and a reminder to stay grateful and a perfectly imperfect human.

I have completed the 350-hour Yoga Teacher Certification and am excited to be offering private, group and community beginner friendly Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Classes.

Melanie Bolovan is a qualified Remedial massage therapist, specialising in trigger pointing, deep tissue, and relaxation massage.
"I’m passionate about body neutrality/acceptance/positivity and self-care, as well as taking a holistic approach to health. I want to encourage relaxation, recuperation, and maintenance in my clients’ bodies by delivering effective, personalised treatments.
I love learning about and engaging in all forms of movement, particularly martial arts, yoga, and physical theatre.
Outside of the treatment room, I’m an actor and singer and host a fun podcast about dogs. I’m excited to further my study of human movement by studying additional massage techniques, weightlifting, yoga instructing, and fight directing for actors."
