It has been spoken a lot that taking photos in natural light looks better than at night with artificial light.
But just because you have the ‘right light’ doesnt mean your capturing correctly.
Your phone has some pretty powerful settings built right into it!
Here are some tips to try and capture a colour accurate image.
-Make sure overhead lights dont overpower your natural light source, turn them down or off if needed
-control where your phone wants to ‘focus’ on. I often find clicking the background makes colour look more accurate, the cameras aperture usually wont blur out close up images.
- tap on different parts of the hair. The dimensional roots may grab different to the poppy ends
-control the exposure, when you tap on your screen, a little slider will pop up. Give it a play and change how much light youre letting in

The shine is UNREAL !!
I created this coral by pre lightening in foil, thanks to Schwarzkopfs level 10 series which gave me the perfect warm base to work with.
Then I pre-toned using vibrance 9-7 to begin the tonal direction we want to go.
Finishing with a personalised mix of direct colour for our pop! 😍
