My client came in with beautiful long hair, but over time the ends had started to thin out and were feeling knotty and a little lifeless. When hair gets to that point, holding onto the length can actually make it look less healthy.

So we decided it was time for a freshen up and to bring some life back into her hair.

We did a big chop, removing the thin ends and reshaping the hair with some soft styling around the face. Taking that extra length off has given her hair so much more body and movement, and it instantly looks fuller and healthier.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for long hair is let go of those tired ends so the hair can bounce back and shine again.

Ever wondered what the day-to-day looks like running a home salon while juggling teenagers, clients, and FIFO life?

Running Colour Crush Hair Studio from home is honestly one of the wildest, most rewarding balancing acts I have ever done.

I’m a mum of two teenagers (which basically means I run a full-time taxi service between school, sports, and “Mum, can you….?”), and I’m also a FIFO wife - so some days it’s just me, the kids, and a salon full of colour bowls waiting to be mixed.

There are pros I absolutely adore:
💕 Working from home means I get to be present for my kids when they need me.
💕 I can create beautiful, relaxed salon space that feels like me.
💕 I get to connect with my clients on such a personal level - they truly become part of my extended family.
💕 And honestly… doing what I love, every single day, never gets old.

But I’ll keep it real - there are cons too:
🌸 The juggle is real.
🌸 The house still needs running, even when I’m mid-foil.
🌸 Some days feel like a marathon of mum life + salon life + wife life… all rolled into one.

But here’s the thing: I wouldn’t change it.
This little home salon has given me purpose, creativity, freedom, and the ability to build something beautiful while showing my kids what hard work and passion look like.

From faded foils to glossy, healthy goddess hair!

Today’s transformation was such a satisfying one!
My beautiful client hadn’t been in for just over a year, and her grown-out light red/brown foils had faded out and gone brassy. Instead of refreshing the foils, she decided it was time for a bold change, and we took her back to rich, luxurious black all over.

This colour shift added instant shine, depth, and a whole lot of healthy-looking richness. To boost even more, we treated her hair to a Botox Treatment, restoring softness and smoothness from root to tip.

We finished with a light trim (because this queen loves her long hair!) and styled with a sleek blow-dry and straighten, and honestly… the result is chef’s kiss 💋
