The secret to keeping SMP looking natural? It starts with how you maintain it.

One of the most common questions I get: “How short do I need to keep my hair?” Here’s everything you need to know. Save this if you’re considering SMP👇🏼

CLIPPERS
Grade 0 to Grade 1 (0.4mm–3mm) is the sweet spot. Most clients sit at Grade 0.5–1 depending on hair density and skin tone. Go longer and the pigment starts looking like a shadow rather than follicles, the contrast kills the illusion.

SKULL SHAVER / RAZOR
A rotary skull shaver like the Pitbull leaves little to no stubble, and mimics a razor shave. I personally use a Pitbull Gold every 2 days. Five minutes, no nicks, no irritation. Either way, shave every 2–3 days to keep the blend seamless.

SPF
UV exposure fades pigment faster than anything else. Make it a daily habit.
