It’s time for Spring 🌼 now that the weather is getting warmer, our bodies are adapting to the change!

This may mean your lashes will shed a lot quicker - leading to more frequent refills. Don’t panic! It will only be for a couple weeks or so until your body adapts to the weather change ☀️

💎As a lover of lash extensions for over 6 years, I mustered up the courage to complete a Lash Artistry course and launch a lash extension business.

💎 I completed a Diploma of Beauty Therapy in 2016.

✨ Lash extension aftercare

👀You definitely need to avoid mascara! The oils in them will break down the lash glue, as well as they won’t make your lashes as fluffy and natural! Lash extensions eliminate the need for mascara.

🚫Definitely avoid using the lash curler on your lash extensions! The curl generally holds, if you’re wanting more of a curl, ask your lash tech to use a curlier lash in your next appointment!

🧼 Wash lashes daily with only a Lash Cleanser. Micellar water, baby shampoo are harmful on your lashes, so you only want to use cleaner specific to lash extensions! (Will be stocking these very soon 😉)

🪥Brush, Brush, Brush your lashes! Especially after getting them wet, whilst they are drying. Best way to dry your lashes is with a hairdryer on the coldest setting (not warm!) and a good arm’s length distance away.

🧴Avoid using oily based products around the area, they will break down the lash glue faster reducing retention. Try and look for water based moisturisers and serums.

❌Don’t pick at your lashes! They will rip off your natural lash, making it quite painful, and also making your natural lashes look way less full. Seek a lash tech to remove your lashes, as it will be very quick and painless!

🗓 Book in your refills every 2-3 weeks, as it aligns with the natural lash growth cycle. You’ll notice the lashes will be grown out with the extension (this is completely normal!) refills will help your lash sets look full and the lash tech will remove the grown out lashes to reduce irritation.

😭 Try to avoid tears and crying, as this is one of the highest factors that affect retention! If you do need a good cry, ensure you’re cleaning your lashes straight away.

✨Here are some tips on Beforecare for a Lash Appointment!

These are essential to ensure the best outcome for your lash set:
☕️ Avoid caffeine prior - this will reduce fluttering of the eyes - less fluttering = quicker appointment!

👓 Remove any contacts before appointment - any glue fumes will go underneath the lens and severly irritate the eyes.

🤫Let me know if you prefer a silent appointment - bring your own headphones if you want to listen to your own music or podcast! This is YOUR time for self-care and relaxation.

⏰ Arrive on time - this ensures the best possible timeframe to spend on the fullness of your lashes! Lateness reduces time on your lash sets.

💄 Avoid wearing any makeup, sunscreen or BB cream - this will affect the stickyness of the eye pads and will cause them to slip and slide.

🚽 Use the restroom prior to appointment - The appointment usually goes for 2-2.5 hours so it is essential to keep your eyes closed during the process.
