Pimples don’t appear overnight… even if they feel like they do.

By the time you notice a breakout, it’s often been developing beneath the surface for days, or even weeks. What you’re seeing today is usually the end of a biological process, not the beginning.

That’s why it’s so easy to blame yesterday’s chocolate, a new serum, or one bad night’s sleep. In reality, your skin has been changing long before you could see it.

This is exactly why Stella focuses on tracking your skin over time. When you can see trends instead of moments, breakouts stop feeling random and your skincare decisions become a whole lot clearer.

Start tracking. Stop guessing. See Stella.

Come and take a Stella Scan with us. ✨

It takes less than a minute.

Every scan tracks changes in your:
• Fine lines
• Deep lines
• Redness
• Breakouts
• Dark circles
• Eye puffiness
• Pigmentation
• Pores
• Sagging

But that’s only the beginning.

The real value comes from tracking your skin over time.

When you combine your Stella Scans with your wearable data and lifestyle habits, you can start to see how your sleep, stress, exercise, cycle, skincare routine and treatments are influencing your skin—using your own data, not guesswork.

Because one photo is a snapshot.
A series of scans tells a story.

Download Stella and start tracking your skin today.

Most of us notice our skin changing.

A little more redness. A breakout that won’t go away. Fine lines that seem to appear overnight.

The natural response is to buy another product.

But here’s the question we explore in this episode:

How do you know what’s actually making a difference?

Your skin is constantly responding to your sleep, stress, hormones, cycle, nutrition and the products you use. The challenge is that most of us rely on memory to judge whether things are improving—and memory is a surprisingly unreliable data point.

In this conversation, we talk about why your skin is often a reflection of what’s happening beneath the surface, and why seeing change over time matters more than chasing the next trend.

If you’ve ever wondered “Is this routine actually working?” or “What’s causing my skin to change?” I think you’ll enjoy this episode.

And if you’re ready to stop relying on memory, download See Stella and start tracking your skin over time. Because when you can see the patterns, it’s much easier to connect the dots.

We thought the conversation would be about products.

It wasn’t.

When dermatologist and See Stella co-founder Dr Alice Rudd hosted a Reddit AMA, the biggest theme wasn’t, “What’s the best serum?”

It was, “What’s actually backed by evidence?”

People wanted to know which treatments are worth considering, which ingredients have real science behind them, and when it’s time to see a dermatologist—not just another influencer.

That says something about where skincare is heading.

There’s more information than ever before, but there’s also more noise. People aren’t just looking for recommendations anymore. They’re looking for confidence that the choices they’re making are grounded in evidence.

It’s one of the reasons we built Stella.

Not to replace expert advice, but to help people understand how their skin changes over time, so skincare decisions and conversations with skin-health professionals can be based on real observations—not memory alone.

A huge thank you to everyone in r/SkincareAddiction who asked such thoughtful questions, and to the moderators for inviting Dr Alice Rudd to take part.

What’s one skincare topic you wish had clearer, evidence-based answers?

Dr. Alice Rudd has been tracking her Skin with See Stella over the past few weeks after having had her CO2 laser treatment.

It can be really helpful to have a God and a longitudinal data set to reflect on after having implemented a new skincare regime, a new skincare treatment or even just tracking how your lifestyle is affecting your skin.

Your mirror has one job.

To show you what your skin looks like today.

But we ask it a much bigger question:
“Is my skin getting better?”

The truth is, a single reflection can’t answer that.

Skin changes slowly. What you see today is just one moment in a much bigger story.

That’s why Stella exists. Not to replace your mirror—but to show you the trend your mirror never could.

See the pattern. See Stella.

Getting sick has been a good reminder that skin is rarely “just skin.”

A few nights of poor sleep, a winter heater running around the clock, not drinking enough water, feeling stressed… and suddenly my skin feels completely different.

It’s easy to blame one product when our skin changes, but often there are multiple factors happening at the same time.

That’s exactly why we built Stella.

Instead of relying on memory, Stella helps you track your skin alongside the things that influence it like sleep, stress, hydration, your cycle and your daily habits so you can start seeing patterns over weeks and months, not just guessing what changed overnight.

Because understanding why your skin changes is just as important as knowing that it changed.

Has anyone else noticed their skin changes when they’re sick? What’s your go-to remedy for dry winter skin? 👇
