Wow, 2025 has been wild so far 😅

After an extremely hectic December - packing, moving, unpacking, renovating, being fully booked with clients, etc. And into a crazy January - going to Noosa, getting engaged, settling into our home, setting up my new beauty room, PLANNING A WEDDING 🫣 and it’s all continued into Feb. I feel like adulting is never ending with endless responsibilities and constant change - but I am having so much fun in this new era so far (my fiancé/homeowner era 🥹)

So firstly I’m SO sorry that I dropped off the face of the earth. I have however still been busy with clients as usual, so be sure to book in your appointments in advance to avoid missing out 🫶🏼

Understanding the stages of eyelash growth, and why lash extensions last for different amounts of time depending on the individual, is crucial

Lashes, like the hair on our head, go through different growth phases - and understanding these stages is key to caring for your lashes and ensuring the longevity of your lash extensions. Here’s a breakdown of the three main stages of eyelash growth:
1. Anagen (Growth Phase)
This is the active phase where your lashes are growing and becoming stronger. During this time, lash extensions cannot be applied as they cannot hold the weight, therefore would stunt the lash growth. On average, lashes spend around 30% of their life in the anagen phase.
2. Catagen (Transition Phase)
During this stage, your lash follicles start to shrink, and the lash growth slows. The lash may still remain in place, but it’s no longer growing actively. Lash extensions may be applied during this phase depending on length and size.
3. Telogen (Resting Phase)
In the telogen phase, lashes have reached their full length and are resting. After about 6-8 weeks, your lash will naturally shed and be replaced by a new one starting the cycle again. This is when you may notice some of your lash extensions shedding, as they’re naturally replaced by fresh lashes from the anagen phase. Lash extensions are mostly applied to lashes that are in this phase.

Why Does This Matter for Lash Extensions?
Because of these natural cycles, lash extensions typically last between 2-4 weeks before a touch-up is needed. As your natural lashes shed in the telogen phase, they take their extensions with them, which is why regular maintenance is essential to keep your lashes looking full.

Looking for that natural lash look? Classic lashes will be your best friend!

Suitable for those with medium to full natural lashes, looking for that ‘mascara look’. Style and length are tailored to your individual eye shape, and natural lash length.

For mature age clients and those with sparse lashes, ‘light volumes’ will be your most natural lash style option, as classic lashes can look quite harsh. If you’re unsure what lash style to book in, you’re welcome to send me a message and I’ll confirm which option would be most suitable!

It’s important to note, not everyone is a candidate for mega volume lashes. Generally speaking, if you have thick, full, long and healthy natural lashes, we are able to create a full, mega volume lash look like this. If not, we will opt for a more natural lash style.
