The story of AMIYA HAIRCARE:
From PASSION to PURPOSE

Before she became the founder and visionary
of Amiya Hair Boutique and Amiya Haircare.
Maiya Patricia (Trish) began her journey in a very different field—as a dental nurse. Trained to work with care and precision. But she’s always felt a creative pull. That led her to pivot and for the past 20 years, she’s immersed herself in the world of hair. Styling, educating and caring for her clients.
It wasn’t just the styling that captivated her—it was the people. The stories.
The patterns she noticed: clients—men, women, and children—dealing with persistent scalp issues and reactions to everyday products.

The turning point came in 2014, Maiya’s nephew was
born—a radiant soul who brought love and light back
into her life during a time when she needed it most.
But by the age of one, he was diagnosed with severe eczema—a chronic condition that affected not only his skin, but also his comfort and wellbeing. Despite her family following medical advices and trying countless products—steroid ointments, medicated creams, shampoos, provided temporary relief, often causing more harm than good.
Over the years she witnessed him cry through wash days, wince through healing routines, suffering silently, enduring pain and the emotional toll of daily discomfort no child should bear. It broke heart—and it lit a fire!
His struggles led Maiya to an epiphany, she realised that the overuse of chemical-laden products, especially at such a young age, was likely the root cause of long-term skin sensitivity and problematic scalps in adulthood.
This was Maiya’s lightbulb moment.

So in 2017, the soul journey of AMIYA HAIRCARE began. Maiya poured her years of hands-on industry knowledge into research and development. Her goal was simple: to bring haircare back to roots by focusing on safe, effective ingredients that supported long-term health. It wasn’t for chasing trends, it wasn’t rushed, it was thoughtful, personal and purpose driven. After four years of learning, testing, refining, a slow and intentional development,
AMIYA HAIRCARE was born. In 2021—built on the belief that healthy hair begins with a healthy foundation.
