Cya Melbs! 👋
Don't worry I'll be back, just taking a mini career break (😱) so going up north to defrost in Noosa for a few days. I have some big dreaming to do as I map out my next steps but more than anything, I have some relaxing to do. My redundancy, the Thing that has haunted us the past 2 years, usual life stress etc has me feeling drained so its time to fill up on all the good things. Lazy mornings, yin yoga classes, coffees, massages, walks, sunshine and I've even booked myself a table for 1 at a restaurant in Noosa tomorrow evening 🙈 can not wait to feel myself again 😍 can't wait to share my trip with you! Watch this space...

Day #4: apple slices with almond butter and carrots.
Snacking a bit earlier today...went for a run before work today so extra hungry!

Snack Hacks with Bridie is here for 7 days, twice a day: sharing a fresh fruit and veg snack with different types of nuts for good fats, fibre, protein, vitamins and minerals followed by a more "prepared" snack idea later in the day.

2nd Snack Hack for the day: chia pudding!
Ridiculously easy to make, can be made in bulk, tastes delicious, is high in fibre, protein and good fats...what's not to love?!
PS: high in good fats and protein? Means that it will keep you fuller for longer 👍
Now the secret to the perfect consistency (no lumps!) and speeding up the pudding process, is "gelling" the seeds with boiling water before adding the milk. The ratio I use is 3 tbs chia seeds, 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 cup plant based milk and 1 tsp maple syrup.

Today's second snack is bliss balls! One of my all time favs... I have included bliss ball recipes in both my ebooks!
I made these ones with:
1 cup walnuts
1 cup dates
2 tbs coconut oil
1/4 cup cocoa or cacao
Pinch of salt
(1 cup dessicated coconut to roll them in)
Optional: 2 scoops chocolate protein powder.
Soak the dates in hot water for 10 mins then drain. Blend all the ingredients together. Roll into balls and toss in the coconut. Keep in the fridge!

Day #1: falafel and veg! You can easily buy premade falafel or a falafel mix or you can even make your own from scratch.
One of the great things about falafel is they keep quite well, can be added to wraps, dipped in hummus, eaten on their own and are delicious!
I prefer to have them with some fresh veg as pictured here to up the nutrient content and adding some yoghurt to this would up the protein content even more but for today, this is a great vegan snack.

One of my simplest hacks for extra serves of veg. That's why I am showcasing fresh veg as part of my new program:
Snack Hacks with Bridie!
I will be publishing an ebook with a guide to healthy snacking including a shopping list and recipes on Sunday with the program launching on Monday 7th Dec.

I am launching a new mini program called Snack Hacks with Bridie: a week of healthy snack inspiration and recipes to help you get your snacking habits back on track!
I get asked about this all the time and so many comments about the snack ideas and platters I post so I created this program especially for you!
The program will kick off next Monday 7th December and will run for 7 days on my feed here and on my stories. Check in daily to see fresh snack ideas such as various fruit and veg and prepared snack ideas such as bliss balls and dips.
