BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH!💓💓💓
Never did I think I would be writing a post like this. Nothing in life prepares you in how to watch someone you love fight cancer.
This year my beautiful mum was diagnosed with breast cancer! As I’m writing this I’m reliving the moment she looked me in my eyes while crying and said “I have breast cancer”. I instantly felt an overwhelming sense of anger and rage then the sadness hit. I can’t put to words the pain I was feeling, to look at my mum and know there’s nothing I can do to fix this, it killed me.
My mum has been my absolute life, she was a single parent who went to the end of the earth to make us happy. She worked harder than anyone I know and raised my sister and I to be the people we are. She has been through so much and regardless of what the battle was she always came out stronger.
We had no idea what this journey was going to look like for my mum so we came together as a family and did our best to support and love her unconditionally. To say my mum remained strong and positive is an understatement. We watched her go through her treatment still smiling and laughing, she for one second did not allow her cancer to beat her and so, on the 27th of September my incredible mum was told she was CANCER FREE!
The most important thing we learnt was the power behind a great support system. This has made us stronger than ever. I want to thank my stepdad, he held my mum through this entire journey and did everything in his power to support her. He kept us all together and constantly reminded us that everything will be ok!
There’s so much we plan to do to help other families battling with cancer. To those who are currently battling cancer or lost someone they love, from my family to yours, we send you all strength and love.
Mum, I wish there was a way for me to show you how proud I am of you! A way for me to show how much I admire your inner strength and your ability to remain positive during tough times. You continue to be my inspiration every day and with you by my side there’s nothing I can’t overcome. I love you!❤️
