A little milestone worth celebrating 🤍

I’m officially a verified practitioner with Mirror Mirror Australia and proud to be the first verified practitioner in Gippsland on the platform.

Mirror Mirror is an independent website designed to help people navigate aesthetic treatments safely by providing evidence-based information and connecting them with qualified, verified healthcare professionals.

Being recognised by a platform that prioritises safety, transparency, and informed decision-making aligns perfectly with the values behind Aesthetics by Elainor.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my little business so far, this is just the beginning. ✨ Mirror Mirror

Today I was the patient not the nurse!

In 2023 I started to experience voice changes, after a long journey of searching for answers I was finally recently diagnosed with abductor spasmodic dysphonia which is a rare neurological voice disorder that affects how the muscles of my voice box function.

Today I underwent supraglottic botulinum toxin injections as part of my treatment plan, the supraglottis is the area just above my vocal cords, with the injections performed using a small camera (scope) passed through my nose to guide placement.

Working in healthcare, it’s easy to forget that clinicians become patients too. This journey has given me an even greater appreciation for how vulnerable it can feel to seek answers, navigate uncertainty, and place your trust in others.
This is a reminder that if something seems not quite right to keep asking for help x
This post is shared as my personal experience only. It is not medical advice, nor is this a treatment I provide or offer through Aesthetics by Elainor. 🤍

One month has flown past! 🤍

It’s hard to believe that four weeks ago I was welcoming my first clients into the clinic room.

Since then I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people, shared a heap of laughs and enjoyed every second of it
Thank you so much to everyone that has made month 1 a month to remember 🥹🫶🏻

You asked, I listened. 🤍

A few weeks ago I asked what appointment times would work best for you, and 71% of responses voted for a Wednesday late-night clinic!

From August, I’ll be swapping my Friday clinic day for a Wednesday evening to make appointments more accessible for those balancing work, family and busy schedules.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote and provide feedback. As a small business, your input genuinely helps shape how I grow and improve.

Wednesday evenings are now open for bookings from August 5th and I can’t wait to see you x

Eeep, what a long way we’ve come!

These photos are more than just a before and after to me. They represent months of learning and patience, years of getting it wrong before asking for help, and accepting that skin health is rarely a straight line.

My acne is largely hormone-driven, which means it’s complex, unpredictable, and definitely not something that can be fixed overnight. My skin still fluctuates, I still have breakouts, and it certainly doesn’t look this clear every day. But for the first time in a long time, I feel like I have some understanding of my skin and some control over how I manage it.

A huge thank you to Jen at Skin & Tonic. The care, understanding, and support she’s provided throughout this journey has been incredible. Jen has deeply listened to me and helped me to develop a plan that genuinely supports my skin health, and the difference that has made is hard to put into words.

Ironically, the reason I finally reached out in the first place was because Jen shared her own skin journey online. Seeing someone be vulnerable and honest about their struggles made me feel less alone and gave me the extra push I needed to ask for help.

If sharing these photos helps even one person feel the same way, then it’s worth it.

For anyone interested in understanding more about acne and the science behind it, .gippsland has shared some fantastic information over on their page. Acne is so much more than just what we see on the surface, and education is such an important part of the journey. 🤍
