If your goal is to support healthy ageing naturally, focus on the habits that have the biggest impact over time. Consistency is key!

* Prioritise protein with every meal (around 25–35 g) to help preserve muscle, skin structure and metabolic health.
* Lift weights 2–4 times per week to maintain muscle and bone density and improve insulin sensitivity.
* Walk daily and include some higher-intensity exercise to support cardiovascular health.
* Wear SPF 50+ every day, even in winter. UV exposure is one of the biggest drivers of premature skin ageing.
* Aim for 7–9 hours of quality sleep. Your body performs much of its repair and collagen production overnight.
* Keep blood sugar stable by eating balanced meals with protein, fibre and healthy fats.
* Eat plenty of colourful fruit and vegetables for antioxidants that help protect cells from oxidative stress.
* Include omega-3-rich foods like salmon, sardines or flaxseeds to support skin, brain and heart health.
* Stay hydrated—well-hydrated skin often appears healthier and more resilient.
* Avoid smoking and keep alcohol to a minimum, as both accelerate skin ageing and increase inflammation.
* Manage stress with practices like breathwork, meditation, time in nature or regular movement. Chronic stress can affect skin, hormones and overall wellbeing.
* Look after your gut health with fibre-rich foods and fermented foods if you tolerate them well, as gut health can influence inflammation and skin.
* Maintain healthy hormone balance where possible. If you’re in perimenopause or menopause and experiencing symptoms, addressing these can make a significant difference to skin, energy and wellbeing.
* Don’t neglect oral health—healthy gums are associated with better overall health as we age.
