I think I’m in a toxic relationship with my own business.

Mustachery throws everything at me: stress, pressure, setbacks, doubt. There are days where I question if I’m even doing this right. And somehow, I stay.

I stay and I fix it. I solve the problems, and I carry it through every rough season.

But while I’ve been fixing Mustachery, I think it’s been fixing me too.

After loss, it gave me somewhere to put myself back together. It helped me find my identity again. It proved to me that I deserve to take up space. It helped me raise my girls, and it gave me a life I couldn’t have imagined before.

And maybe I’ve done the same for it.

I’ve shown it that it’s more than its past, that second chances are real, and that growth is allowed. That a glow up doesn’t mean forgetting where you came from.

We’ve both been through it. We’ve both had to rebuild.

And we’re still here.

Maybe this isn’t toxic at all. Maybe this is what it looks like when two things grow together, shaping each other along the way.

We’re good for each other.

And something tells me the next decade is going to be something special.
