As reported in today’s Newcastle Herald , AIHW data shows that nearly 70% of Hunter New England adults are overweight or living with obesity.
For the first time, carrying excess weight has overtaken to***co as Australia’s leading risk factor for ill health and death.
The causes are complex and extend far beyond personal responsibility. Genetics, biology, hormones, environment and access to healthcare all play a role.
