REALTALK.
2014. One of my first attempts at balayage. Holy s**t, I thought I was killing it!
Fast forward to now, 2018. I am in my 7th year of hairdressing & just started my own business!

In the past month I’ve experienced a lot of feedback about how ‘lucky’ I am & how did I manage to get here so easily. “Isn’t it amazing that you get handed a clientele from Instagram these days.”
Don’t get me wrong, god damn I am so lucky. I spend every day doing something I love!
BUT that’s not what got me here.
I got to be here with a lot of HARDWORK!

I still remember the day I did this colour & I was so proud. I totally winged my technique. I made s**t up as I went along. I was so excited with the finished result. We all know this isn’t the best colour you’ve ever seen haha. But you know what? I was so damn passionate & proud of it.

This is a reminder to me & everyone that you have to start at the bottom! Your not going to be amazing straight away, your not going to know everything, there will be things you don’t understand, there will be days you think you’ll never get any better.

But for me 7 years on, I’m making a dream come true. I worked my ass off, long hours, no lunch breaks, minimal holidays, never having weekends off, days you can’t walk because your body is so sore, turning up late to dinner or parties, missing family events & spending my own time educating myself on how to be the best hairstylist I could be, doing a million free photo shoots/collaborations, spending hours a night doing social media, networking & getting my name out there.

I never stopped putting in HARDWORK & PASSION.

Be the most passionate, hardworking, driven, inspired & humble person. That’s when you make your dreams come true. Aim to be the best you can be, but remember there’s ALWAYS more to learn!
Excite yourself + Educate yourself.
Believe in yourself.
