It’s been an interesting and busy week here at Adorn Addicted Body Piercing

Fresh second lobes, jewellery upgrades, cartilage work with plans for a full curated stack, a fresh septum… and another dermal emergency rescue 😮‍💨

A cheek dermal had completely come out and was saved with a new sterile implant and reset before the piercing was lost completely 👏🏻

We swapped a struggling forward helix to a curved bar to relieve pressure and give it the best chance at healing properly — sometimes tiny adjustments make the biggest difference.

A reminder too: healing piercings are NOT healed piercings.
Changing jewellery too early, sleeping on piercings, touching them, or skipping aftercare is one of the biggest reasons we see irritation, migration, rejection, and failed healing.

Good piercings need good aftercare ✨
Patience really does make all the difference.

I love doing the pretty sparkly stuff, but I also love the problem-solving side of piercing. Knowing when to change jewellery, when to intervene, and how to save a piercing before it’s gone forever is just as important as the piercing itself 🖤

This Mother’s Day weekend: (Saturday 11am-4pm)

🚨 PIERCING EMERGENCY 🚨

This client came in after her dermal had been completely ripped out after being knocked — bleeding ++ and in full panic mode.

Because the dermal was placed in the centre of an existing tattoo, losing it completely could have meant scarring, distortion or losing the placement altogether.

I was able to carefully insert a brand new sterile dermal anchor to save the piercing and preserve the look of the tattoo. 👏✨

THIS is why proper aftercare and protection matters with dermals.
They are not “healed” in a couple of weeks just because they look okay from the outside.

💫 Dermals should ideally stay covered and protected for 8–12 weeks
💫 Be careful with towels, clothes, seatbelts, hairbrushes, pets, and partners accidentally catching them
💫 Trauma to a dermal can rip the entire anchor out very quickly and cause scarring

Thankfully we saved this one before the area closed or rejected completely. 🙌

If your dermal gets knocked, starts lifting, bleeding, or looks crooked — don’t panic and don’t try to fix it yourself. Get into the studio ASAP so the best chance of saving it isn’t lost.
