Hi lovely people who read my blathering posts 🥰

I've been in Australia for 22 years now but I still have moments where I suddenly realise I'm actually in Australia!

Sounds crazy I know. It's like I get an Australian slap in the face to say look where you are!!

The things that do it are usually sitting by the Opera house and I think to myself, I can't believe I'm in Australia 😱

Today's was seeing a herd of kangaroos bounding across the paddock. Holy crap I'm in Australia 🤣

The exquisite smell of Eucalyptus permeating the land around me also brings a lump to my throat and reminds how far I've come and travelled.

I have got distracted as usual and what I meant to say on this post is that I'm taking a little market break for the next month or so.
Let my bones thaw out and allow myself to retreat inwards for winter.

Making smudge sticks this evening.
I love the process.
It slows me down, grounds me, connects me with the deep wisdom that is held in the plants and trees around me, that whisper their wise words...

Anyone can do this.
Just pick some of your favourites, those that catch your eye. They have a message for you.
Bring them inside to dry and bundle them with string to make your own smudge stick.

Nature is all around us.
The trees and plants want to be seen and heard.
They miss us! We used to be in each other's lives so much more than we are these days.

It's not learning anything new. It's just remembering, reminiscing, reminding and reconnecting with that wild soul that is in all of us.

Community Notice:

at the June Long Weekend Twilight Market, there will be a fireworks display at 7pm.

Markets will kick off at 4pm, Bonfire will be lit at 5:30pm, then the big fireworks show!

The countdown is on to the Markets, Bonfire and Fireworks this Saturday.

Here are 5 tips to have the best night!

1) It will be COLD - dress appropriately (especially those of you visiting from over the mountain.
2) You are welcome to bring your own chairs down to sit by the fire into the night
3) The Zig Zag Brewery will be open, but all alcohol must be consumed in the licensed Brewery area
4) The event is dog friendly, but we ask that they remain on leash and secured during the fireworks.
5) Lots of food options, so don't eat before you get here, support our local food providers!
