π Pre-Care: How to Prep for Your Appointment
Getting a tattoo is an investment in your skin, and the prep work starts at home! Preparing your body and your skin makes a huge difference in your pain tolerance and helps ensure the best possible canvas for your new art.
Here is your checklist to get ready for your session:
π§ 1β2 Weeks Before: Hydrate & Prep the Skin
Drink your water: Start drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Well-hydrated skin is plumper, healthier, and takes ink much better than dehydrated skin.
Exfoliate & moisturise: Gently exfoliate the area to be tattooed a few times the week before to get rid of dead skin cells, and apply moisturiser daily. Stop doing this 24 hours before your session so the skin isnβt greasy or overly sensitive on the day.
π 24β48 Hours Before: Things to Avoid
No alcohol or heavy partying: Avoid alcohol the night before (and the day of) your appointment. Alcohol thins your blood, which leads to excess bleeding. This pushes the ink back out and makes the process harder for both of us!
Avoid sunburn: Take extra care in the sun. I cannot tattoo over sunburned, peeling, or damaged skin. If you get sunburnt in the tattoo area, we will have to reschedule.
Don't shave the area: Please leave the shaving to me! Doing it at home can cause razor burn or micro-cuts, which can introduce bacteria. I will prep and shave the area right before we start.
π₯ On the Day: Fuel Your Body
Eat a solid meal: Eat a filling, carb-heavy meal 1β2 hours before you arrive. Your blood sugar will drop during a long tattoo session, and a full stomach is your best defense against feeling dizzy or faint.
Dress for comfort & access: Wear comfy clothes that give easy, clean access to the area we are tattooing. Think about ink stains, tooβdon't wear your absolute favorite white outfit!
Bring snacks & entertainment: Feel free to bring a sugary drink (like juice or soft drink), some lollies or snacks, headphones, and a fully charged phone.
π¨ Quick Medical Check
A gentle reminder: Please let me know in advance if you are taking any blood-thinning medications, have any skin conditions in the area, or are feeling unwell. We want to ensure a safe, smooth session for you!

I have a question for my clients....
Would you be interested in being in a private client group?
This would be a space where you can ask questions, post photos, connect with each other and get first notifications of flash sheets and available appointments?
