Thank you for the care! I have been getting headaches for some time now but didn't realise it was a symptom of a silent bigger problem!
After a visit to a new GP to have some moles looked at two weeks ago the nurse took my blood pressure as a new patient. She looked very worried and told me it's not good the dr will discuss with you.
I went into the Drs had my moles checked, all good and asked her about what the nurse said. She scoffed at me and said it means nothing, it's late in the afternoon a true reading would be better in the morning.
On Saturday I was in Coles shopping and they had blood pressure machines, I thought hmm why not, I wonder if I can claim it on the business 🤣
The next morning I did my blood pressure and it read 230/138
I googled it as I have no idea about blood pressure... critical
Hmmm maybe I should go to the doctors. I make an appointment for the morning. Wait a bit and do another test, this time it's 267/151
So I ring healthdirect and am told do not go to the drs but to go straight to the emergency room where I was very well looked after, admitted into the hospital ward and spent a couple of nights doing lots of tests to find out why and try to drop it.
Basically I would of at any moment had an impending stroke.
Blood pressure is still in crisis zone but down by nearly 100! On medications, awaiting test results and under good care to get it back to normal.
Fingers crossed 🤞
