Love, love, love this quote from Brene Brown. Forget the naysayers and those watching from the sidewalk who love to criticise and dampen your journey - whether it’s a personal or professional one. Learn whose advice to take, and whose to brush off. If they’re not in the arena with you, they simply aren’t worth your time.

I cannot control what people think of me, but I can control how I respond to them.

And one day she discovered that she was fierce, and strong, and full of fire, that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears

When your passion overcomes your fears, that’s where the magic starts to happen

Today, I know my desires and I intend to pursue them.

Five Things About Me

So many new followers and I thought it high time to say SUPPPP! and reintroduce myself to you all with a few facts about me!

1. Born and bred Newcastle NSW kid who moved to Perth in mid 2018

2. As a kid, I spent half of 1994 living in Italy and came home fluent and couldn’t understand my family in English and relied on my mum to translate for me as I adjusted back to Australia

3. I met my hubby via RSVP online dating which 13 years ago still had a stigma attached to it so we didn’t actually tell people how we met for the first few months of dating - nowadays it’s the done thing!

4. I work full time for one of the big 4 mining companies here in Perth in Project Management and in my spare time I’m my kids basketball team manager, Parkerville Kangaroos Basketball Club Vice President and School Board member.

5. Lee and I had one rule for naming our kids...they couldn’t be the name of a previous fling/one nighter/relationship...this ruled QUITE a few names out for us 🤦‍♀️

I would love to hear from all my new followers and where you are from!

Things come at us every single day that are beyond our control.

What we can control is how we respond. And in my experience it’s a hell of a lot easier to do a mindset flip and respond with dignity, grace and finding the positive.

The alternative is just draining and exhausting.
Be unafraid to speak your truth.
Feel the pain.
But then let it go.

You are not your story or what happens to you (btw what about this mindset flip - it’s happening “for” you - to learn from and grow stronger)

Current vibe: Doing me. Restoring myself.

Reinventing myself. Early bedtime.

Tea. Lots of water.

Working out. Working hard.

Eating healthy. Saying no to people.

Bubble baths. Staying in.

Being present. Shifting gears.

Staying focused. Feeling incredible.

I love this quote – for me, it’s the ultimate sixteen steps to the best sort of self-care.

Try to implement these suggestions into your day – and watch the benefits of self-care manifest.

From an indulgent bubble bath, to a quiet cup of tea away from your desk, to mastering the art of saying no to people,

Each and every one of these will leave you feeling incredible. Take some time for you today!

Affirmation: Taking time for myself is the ultimate self-care

“Don’t let what you don’t know stop you from having a go”

If you’re genuinely passionate and truly believe in your vision.

You can do anything

Think rationally, keep your finger on the pulse, and work through everything one step at a time.

Vision without action is merely a dream
Action without vision just passes the time
Vision with action can change the world.

Taking my studies to a new level this year and I’m excited for what is to come although there is a sense of nervousness as well of the unknown!

Here’s to jumping in headfirst into 2023!

What is something that you have always wanted to conquer but there’s a mindset of “not knowing enough” to get stuck in?

Wrapping up for the last working week of 2022 and forgot to share the kids Santa photos!

It’s been the biggest year for all four of us this year and one of the best years! Bryce and Chloe have developed some amazing friendships and Lee and I have followed in the kids footsteps and made friends with some truly amazing parents this year!

Career wise both Lee and I are stepping up and 2022 brought a lot of site travel for us both which we both love and 2023 looks to be one of my biggest years career wise since coming back to Rio Tinto in 2019!

All four of us are still pinching ourselves that each and every day we wake up in our forever home here in the Perth hills but we couldn’t be more proud of the life we are building here and our hearts are full!

Hope everyone enjoys the Christmas break and I cannot wait to jump back into it feet first in 2023!

Grateful for where I’m at…

Excited for where I’m going…

This week has really punched it up a notch for me personally and professionally and I’m so excited to start mapping out the next twelve months of what I want to achieve…

I’m celebrating some massive wins this year including moving into an incredible work team and Lee and I really becoming a better partnership after making more time for each other…we always have been good but this year we really wanted to concentrate on “us” and it’s made our marriage and us as parents better…

Capping it all off has been doing the Women Rising with Megan Dellacamina coaching calls which has just taken my growth mindset to the next level and I’m so excited to keep showing up and doing the work!

Who else is celebrating some 2022 wins?
